Re: 2018-2019 Stanley Cup Finals

How the St Louis Blues team was constructed: Mostly through drafting and development with some recent aggressive trading: It all started 11 years ago when they drafted Alex Pietrangelo 4th overall in 2008, one of their highest picks after 1st overall Erik Johnson in 2006 who was traded 3 years later...

Re: The Official CC "All Thing Leaves" thread

'Mitch Marner could receive hostile bid of $ 12.5 million' DLC reporting one of their contacts - a player in Habs organization heard Marner's agent say he's expecting at least one team to offersheet $12.5M AAV for his client and that Marner won't sign before talking to other teams https://www.dansl...

Re: 2020 NHL Draft

Olaf gonna play well enough with Quinn so we will be getting a pick outside the top 15 in 2020. You think Juolevi and Quinn are gonna be a pairing? oh, nope, just saying OJ will help this team score and get points in the grand scheme of things. As I just mentioned in the other thread I see Hughes a...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

It wasn’t a disaster for Florida. They rid themselves of a poor player who was about to become expensive. What they did with the assets that Vancouver gifted them however ..... had they hung onto McCann and made a good draft pick they could easily have two top six forwards (McCann and Debrincat) or...

Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver

If we get another 2nd rounder via a Tanev trade, I'd take a gander at Matvei Guskov. At #40 I'd take a faller from the 1st, but this is where you really need to get a dman ideally, like we got with Woo last year. https://lastwordonhockey.com/2019/06/11/matvei-guskov-scouting-report/ 6'2 185lb center...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

Shockingly Jake Virtanen didn’t make the cut Have read that the Canucks gave Florida the choice between the 2. Florida targeted 5 different players on 5 teams for Guddy. In the end this trade was a disaster for both teams. Gudbranson was Florida's unheralded future captain, was their leader, a defe...

I'll get back to ya'll on those Eriksson deals. But man if Benning were smart he would deal Tanev for picks at the draft, idc what anyone says, that's what a smart team would do, from a rebuild to a contender moving Tanev with a full year on his contract for picks would be the smart move. Can keep o...

The other ideal making the rounds is Eriksson for Neal (who doesn't have any clause) 4 x $5.75M left on contract. Would a James Neal for Loui Eriksson swap be beneficial to both the Canucks and Flames? @Kent_Wilson takes a look. https://theathletic.com/1017634/2019/06/10/in-the-face-of-a-cap-crunch-...

Imagine being another team fan getting offered Eriksson? lol they'd probably cut him up more than Lucic.

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 18-19 Sponsored by SKYO

AND if the sweetener for Lucic is swapping #10 for #8 the Canucks got a real shot at one of Zegras, Dach or Cozens, that is if Podkolzin, Caufield, Boldy or Bro go before #8. Imagine the Canucks top two lines of: Petey - Boeser Horvat - Cozens shiiiiit that's worth the trade in itself. I can't see a...

Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver

Gaudette is already as effective as Sutter. Losing a Sutter or a Beagle isn’t going to tip the balance in a season. No they are not gonna bring us to the promised land to plan the parade on Georgia street, but they'll help keep us in the game to ultimately help reach the playoffs, center depth is p...

All I'm worried about protecting up front is:

Petey/Boeser/Horvat/Virtanen/Gaudette & (Zucker for example).

that's it.

Don't care if Seattle takes Sutter, Motte, Bart, Goldy, Roussel, Beagle, Leivo or the many other fringe players we have.

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 18-19 Sponsored by SKYO

There is no such thing as an "immovable contract". The idea of moving Eriksson seems to be to "unload a bad contract". So why on God's semi-green earth would you want a much worse contract coming back! :wow: Albeit true - that no contract is truly immovable - some are just so damn hard to move with...
