Re: Farhan's $0.02: Playoffs, Kesler, Lapierre, moving fowar

MG has to be culpable somewhat. Its similar to 1995-1996 when Pat Quinn cleaned all of the foot soldiers off of the team and it was a spineless group. The result was a 1st round thumping at the hands of the Avs culminating with Claude Lemieux ragdolling and smacking Trevor Linden around. Kinda remi...

Re: Cap Floor & Mr Ballard

We also have Ryan Parent who will get his chance this year, great junior career, just hasn't been able to make a consistent leap to the bigs....although Philly did give him a decent shot. Downside: another lefty and offensively challenged. Upside: Way less $$ than Ballard, good size and not a defen...

Re: Farhan's $0.02: Playoffs, Kesler, Lapierre, moving fowar

Old Luggage Eyes basically castrated this team and through all the excess skin and blubber around his eyes he clearly didn't see that bitchslapping coming. Is this MG's fault? I am not quite sure... The fact that the league wants to clean up the game yet letting go every cheap and dirty shot in the...

Re: Cap Floor & Mr Ballard

Trading Ballard might not be an option now unless there is a NHL-calibre defenseman coming this way. With Ehrhoff gone, Ballard should have a legit chance of being a top 4-5. Besides, MG could always trade Ballard next season when he signs another UFA or RFA defenseman (preferrably from Nashville). :D

Re: Bringing back the Roberto Luongo of 2006/07 (and that st

I agree with you completely, there is a reason why he is getting $10 million to play a sport many of us would play as a career at our current salary. I think I was responding to the fact of "bringing back the Roberto Luongo of ...." is not possible at this point of time. It's too late for us to tur...

Re: Bringing back the Roberto Luongo of 2006/07 (and that st

Agree completely but for different reason. If you ever play competitive sports of any kind you will know that playing with expectation vs. playing without makes a huge difference. I think that's why we always see Cinderella runs with superb goal-tending from goalies of almost unknown origins or "wa...

Re: Do you see some kind of a trend, is this the same MG

Jovocop, I've seen lopsided calls all throughout the playoffs, not just against the Canucks but in quite a few series. The officiating has been sub-par all season long, let alone the playoffs. I could call 'conspiracy theory' but truth of the matter is, the Canucks could've and should've fought adv...

Re: Brad Winchester?

I hope he proves me wrong because I would like to see the guy be able to put whatever issues he had behind him, but I am glad he is doing it somewhere else. I like Rypien but the Canucks would not have a spot for him this season. I just wish him all the best in Winnipeg. As for Brad Winchester, he ...

Re: Do you see some kind of a trend, is this the same MG

You know, I was thinking about that during the series and I was amazed how much cheap stuff the Bruins got away with. It's just amazing how the Canucks were portrayed as divers while it was acceptable for the Big Bad Bruins to cheap shot, slash and cross-check to their hearts content. Life has been...

Re: Trade: Shirokov for Duco (FLA)

Gotta disagree with those who say that Shirokov had his chances, and that this deal is turning nothing into something. What I saw was a guy who did everything that the organization asked him to do. He kept his mouth shut, worked on his defensive game and certainly seemed to be giving maximum effort...

As long as Torres is not playing for the Canucks, he won't be the poster child any more.

Re: Cam Janssen?

I'm a firm believer in the nuclear deterrent and would love to see MacIntyre signed here. Even if he is parked in the press box until we need him, we will need him. The Canucks were shown to be a very easily manhandled team by the Bruins and regardless of what some may think it gave Boston a huge c...
