Re: OOTS Jan-Apr 2016

All we have to do is lose to LA and we pretty well guarantee a bottom six finish. I know that doesn't translate into a top six pick but it gives us odds, slim, but still odds. Really though outside the bottom three the odds difference is minuscule. So, lose to LA, then beat the crap out of Calgary ...

Re: OOTS Jan-Apr 2016

Jets hang on to get into overtime against the Hawks (before trading chances and losing), giving them 70 points.

Why are people acting surprised. How do you have any fresh emotion left for this.

Re: 2016 NHL ENTRY DRAFT

The top pick will be nice and is absolutely the most significant aspect of the draft but it's handy to be drafting at (or near) the top of every other round as well. Basically the difference between the 2016 draft and say the 2011 draft for this team is like trading their 7th rounder for a top 5 pic...

Re: OOTS Jan-Apr 2016

Jets lose, again, Calgary down 3-0 already halfway through the first. Not getting any less crowded at the bottom of the standings.. six teams within three points of one another. A couple of wins could be the difference between a 20% shot at #1 and guaranteed #4 or higher, and a 7.5% shot at #1 with ...

SKYO you left out the best part by a country mile. The Globe & Mail published a search of the unsealed emails here: http://www.theglobeandmail.com/incoming/nhl-unsealed-emails/article29425257/ Looks like a lot of email addresses follow the first initial last name format, so you can search "bburke" a...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

Is Vesey.. what.. the sixth guy in the last decade or so to do this? Is the best NHLer (of the guys whose original teams weren't compensated) Justin Schultz or am I missing someone? It's a kick in the teeth, but so is having a junior player choose to re-enter the draft after 2 years. That said, I'm ...

They have to "look at it" as he is technically suspended indefinitely right now.

Re: Hawks @ Nucks on TV somewhere

Comparing Chicago and Vancouver since 2009 is a spotlight on how piss poor Mike Gillis was as a GM, and how shitty our scouting department was. The drafting, for sure, but even in 2009 (and even more obviously in 2011) it was clear that Chicago was at the very beginning of a long ascendance.. a you...

Yeah man, that is a good map. I can't find too much to fault to be honest.

Re: Topper's Grilling Advice!

Going to second the roast chicken. Stick another dish of veg (carrots, parsnips, cauliflower etc) and/or potatoes in partway through, make a green salad (takes 5 minutes) and there's dinner. Maybe 15-20 minutes of work in total. Save half the bird and make soup or enchiladas or pasta with it (I like...

Re: OOTS Jan-Apr 2016

The Oilers are in a class all by themselves again this year. Right now they're on pace to be 5 points behind us excluding the last two Canucks/Oilers games which means even if they win both.. If Oilers finish last no way the league let's them draft first again. It will be fixed somehow. Who are we ...
