Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

I have no issue with Myers as a d-man on this club. He'd be an ideal top 4 to replace Tanev's minutes, while just being a steady, unspectacular giant d-man. He's not going to intimidate anyone, nor is he a push over. He has some puck skills, decent mobility and seems to be a good guy in the room. He...

Re: 2019 Draft Summary

Pyatt is a UFA. Perron won't be plucked in September.

Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver

Miller plays all three forward positions. Has decent size and good wheels. A solid complimentary player who can play in all situations.

I'm sure this is just the first of several moves Benning will make in the coming weeks

Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver

He's biggest assets are his work ethic and hockey sense. He's not afraid to take the puck to the net and hates to lose. He's been a captain on the international stage twice already. Good offensive ability, his skating is the only thing that held him back from a top 4 pick, as its only average. Comp...

Re: Canucks Contracts

Give him more term, and lower his cap hit. Give him a full NTC for 2 years, and a modified for the remaining 2-3.

Front load a 4 year deal worth $24 schmill.
$7.5, $6.5, $5.5, $4.5.

If EK can put his groin issues behind him, he still has a long and successful career ahead of him. He's worth every penny IMO, but those soft tissue issues...

Re: Canucks Contracts

Much can happen between now and July 1st.

The objective here is to improve the defence for next year and beyond. If this means moving on from Edler, so be it, but I don’t believe anything until it’s official.

3 at 6, 4 at 6.5 or 5 at 7 actually seems about right.

I wouldn’t go any longer on term.

+1 Udub.

A Huberdeau, Tyler Johnson, Trouba or Dumba type acquisition I could justify sacrificing Gaudette + on. Otherwise, he's just scratching the surface of his potential, and I'd loath to move him too soon.

Re: Canucks Contracts

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but is the expansion draft not in June of 2021? This would mean that If Edler were to sign a two-year deal, only his first year would have a full NMC, while his 2nd would be a NTC thus leaving him exposed. Count me in on the EK train. Front load the deal and pair him wi...

Re: How to fix the Canucks defense?

Tryamkin is a huge mystery these days. After a hot first half last year, he fizzled and fell into the coaches dog house. This year his numbers were pedestrian and there was little in the way of scouting reports on his progress. The fact he wasn't even invited to play in the Worlds is not encouraging...

Ownership has been looking to fill the position since Linden left.

No one of any prominence wants it.
