Re: The Vancouver Canucks and Scott Niedermayer & Shea Weber

Dr Dork said: Edler hasn't played well, but he is completely capable of eventually being a solid #1. #23 is 23 which is young for a defenceman. Everybody has been bagging on his play (including me) and even though he might be somewhat overpaid (or being paid for potential) he is likely to be underp...

Re: The Vancouver Canucks and Scott Niedermayer & Shea Weber

JcHockey Said: The best shot the Canucks have at winning the championship is when Grabner and Hodgson become legitimate second liners and when Edler becomes our #1 guy Edler a #1... guy who misses the net about 90% of the time? and can't check? ... a 220 pounder that plays softer than a 170 pounder...

Re: Me thinks the Sharks game

It was definitely a game that showed up our weaknesses on defence.. Sharks have 6 forwards that weigh over 220... They were throwing Edler and Erhoff around like rag dolls.. Schneider is great on the PP but not fast enough or big enough to handle the " heavy lifting ".. Bernier is our only forward o...

Trouble Said: I wanna know what happened to Elder.. This is not the same guy we had last year Dunno but a large part of it might be that his mentor Ohlund left.. and is now playing a solid 24 minutes a night for the Lightning.. :(... Biggest difference in the game tonight was our D was not only out...

Re: The Vancouver Canucks and Scott Niedermayer & Shea Weber

Not so sure that this years team with a couple of " tweaks " isn't about as good a team as we've had for years.. We seem to be about 2 or 3 players short... Replacing Wellwood would be my first concern - maybe someone like BMo.. older solid center with a low cap hit.. Then take a hard look at our D ...

Woodhog said: Bieksa and Edler are still making some big defensive mistakes and for this game the Canucks have to play a tough defensive game to have any chance of winning. Edlers been making too many "rookie" mistakes.. and not using his body enough in checking.. I,m hoping Luongo can win it for th...

Re: GDT: Canucks host Oil - CBC - 7pm

Dr Dork Said: A fun game to be at, although it was sloppy in spots and we almost let the Oilers back in it. Pretty much sums it up.. Beating a tired, injury ridden team when they are on the road playing second game of a back 2 back with a goaltender that couldn't stop a beachball it isn't a surprise...

Re: Ineptitude in the '80s (no more torture)

82 team would not have as many soft players. I can think of 6 of the 2009 players that wouldn't make the 82 team... Check out the centers... Gradin ( about same as H Sedin ), Boldirev,, Hlinka, Rota...so goodbye Wellwood and Johnson... on D? goodbye Edler..( SOB would replace "the crow" in the press...

Bingo Tough said: Looking back, it must have been real hard to follow them during the 80s, but the 90s weren't great either. C,mon.... we are Canucks fans - get used to disappointment !! Re: GDT: Kings visit the Garage, PPV, 7:00 PM

An important game.. LA is one of the few teams that currently hold a spot in the top 8 of the conference that the Canucks can and should beat . Sitting in 11th spot now is not a comfortable place if the Canucks really want to contend in or even make the playoffs. LA has a decent offence but is vulne...

Re: Canucks first picks of the 1970s

Dr Dork said : Vaive was a very good player. Tiger wasn't. That was a bad trade, up there with the Neeley trade. Maybe Tiger helped us get to the finals, but Vaive and Derlago could have pushed us over the top. Those were the only two good picks of the 70s and what do we do ? Trade them for a goon w...

A healthy Demitra at playoff-time would be nice.
Making the playoffs would be nice.... and right now it sure doesn't look like an easy task..

GDT: Hawks/Nucks

Should be a great game.. Toews back in the lineup.. Sedin back in line up for Nucks.. I think if Canucks play a tough physical game. they win.... If they try to out finesse Hawks.. they lose...

3 - 2 Canucks
