After all this talk of no offensive forward depth on the farm, it's nice to see Nonis taking some steps to address it. Throw them all in a cauldron, stir to a boil over next season, and then see who floats to the top and makes it to the big show.

Bieksa's worth it. Every penny. His stock can only go up, and compared with what he would have been offered next summer, Nonis got a deal. My question is that with the cap hit being $3.25(?) million after next year, what does it mean for the rest of the team? Nazzy's and Mo's contracts should be up ...

Tant's right. The older, established guys will either take an olympic-sized bath on their next contract or they will have to start looking at the want-ads. As for the 3rd-4th-line players, they'll have to settle for sub-million dollar contracts or face the same prospect. That said, unless the NHL mi...

Consider that he was playing on a team that finished near the bottom of the standings lasteason. You could argue whether his stats were because he played on a sh*tty team or whether the team suffered because of Sanford's shortcomings. I have a feeling that his numbers will certainly improve playing ...

First Pyatt and now Isbister. I think he skates better than Chouinard and has a harder edge to him than Pyatt... which still just makes him 3-4th line material. Like someone else said, it looks like Nonis is scrounging the bargain bins for right-handed hulking wingers and hoping the law of averages ...

Hell, if they were going to part with Lupul so cheaply why couldn't Nonis have offered something in the league of Janik Hansen and a pick for him? Lupul would have been a good fit with the Sedins...

$1.1 million is a little rich for my blood. If you're going to pay that kind of money, why not sign him for longer than just two years (like, 3-4 years)? I can't think of many players who perform at the same level after a sweet contract the way they did the season before, so I figure Krajicek won't ...

What surprised me about the Oilers trade was that they gave up on Lupul. I think he had an off-year, but he was one player who I thought would rebound this next season. I know you have to give up something to get something, but if you're going to give up Lupul, couldn't Lowe have done better than Ge...

I know that the cap impact front-loaded contracts is averaged out, but I wonder, if the club signs the guy to an extansion on an existing contract what the impact would be. To illustrate: Player A signs a 4-year contract which pays him $10 million in year one, but $4 million in year four, for an (ar...

I'd say Sutter overpaid. Sarich has never scored more than 5 goals and I would say both are just as good defensively.

Sutter's not the type to throw money away needlessly, so perhaps there was some market inflation involved.

I didn't even know the Rags had the cap space to sign both of them. Are they still under cap with these signings, or do they have to drop or trade contracts now?

Sanford seemed to stand on his head whenever the boys played him. I'd like Nonis to sign him, just so the guys won't have to face him in St. Lou. :P

After reading the ISS and CSS profiles, this one looks more intriguing. He still seems like a Kesler type, but perhaps with a better shot and offensive skills. Can't complain about that at all. Either way, we won't know for another 3 years until he gets out of college. They are saying Nonis offered ...

They say Doyle went downhill after he left Everett, could it be he benefitted from Ellington instead of vice versa?

Am I right and we don't pick again until the 5th round?? :|

Patrick who?????

WTF???

Anybody know who this kid is? The way the TSN guys talk, it sounds like another Kesler.

I don't know what Nonis is thinking.
