Who would you suggest we trade away to make room for his salary? Pyatt's doing just fine with the twins. No need for Anson that I see.

I was going to say that we shouldn't be throwing gravedirt on the Flames quite yet. All it takes is for Kipper to get on a hot streak and their fortunes can change. Doesn't change the fact I hate the Flamers and their rodeo, bush-league brand of hockey, but you have to admit that as Kipper goes, so ...

Remembering what little I do about Bert's last contract negotiation, I think Bert has a very high opinion of what he's worth in this league. I don't see him taking a significant pay cut to play here, no matter what 'unfinished business' he may have here.

This is all about protecting the European leagues. I have no doubt the Russian Ice Hockey Federation has their dirty paw-prints all over this. After the lawsuits filed by them, it just fits. My question is: why are they going this route when they can pay their players more? They did it with the like...

I think Pyatt and Krajicek are going to be the x-factor additions of this season. Luongo, we know what he brings. Bulis, he may turn out to be the scoring winger he keeps hyping himself to be but whatever. Chouinard, nothing much more expected of him that he hasn't already shown. I think Pyatt has t...

I think every good defensive pairing has to have a yin and yang element. Lumme had Murzyn, Jovo had Malik, and Krajicek has Mithell. If you're going to activate the defense on the rush or in the offensive zone (which I think is the way to go), you need that other D to know he is the safety net and p...

Look here's the deal, if your teams tough guy can handle the other teams tough guy all the players on your team play a little bigger knowing that if the beaten tough guy tries to do anything about it he will be beaten again. Get it? Thing is with the instigator rule he couldn't fight anyone who too...

Here's a question: Would Phaneuf have been nearly so "brave" if there was no instigator rule and he knew he would have the puss pounded out of him the next shift for flinging a puck an an un-helmeted goalie? Fighting used to keep players honest. In this aspect I agree with Grapes. Which would we rat...

Honestly, I think the answer may be Taylor Pyatt. What I saw from him with the Sedins makes me think he may be the guy. All he has to do is stand around the net and keep his stick on the ice (and he could've had a second one tonight if he had). That's all Carter ever did and I think that presence in...

Hold up.... you mean to say that if a guy streaks full steam across the ice making a bee-line to another player and hits him in the head with his elbow-uppper arm-and-then-shoulder that it's a clean hit???? This is not like Scott Stevens swerving from the face off circle into Eric Lindros' head. Thi...

Yeah, I saw the highlights. The kid is acting like a bitchy little brat and somebody needs to give him a sore spanking. You knew it was coming after what happened between him and Ruutu last season (F*ckin hilarious) that he would think he's the big pit bull that is going to intimidate his way around...

It's a shame Reid didn't stick, especially with Chouinard and Santala - the twin peaks of mediocrity - still with the big club, but them's the breaks. The kid has speed as well as good skill. He can rack up the points as he showed the last time he was in Manitoba. I hope he gets the nod for the firs...

Good Stuff Clam. I agree about Ellis. The guy's a soap opera looking for a hockey rink. Between Vincent and Schneider, we have enough young goaltending we don't need the headache. Anybody see Simek in the main camp? Given what you have to say, hopefully he'll tear it up in Brandon. He could be a sle...

Meh... It's not so much whether they win or lose, but how certain people play in that game. I'm rooting for Reid, Schultz and Bourdon to play well. I'll be interested to find out how Reid fares against the likes of Regehr, Warrener and Phaneuf. If he can hold his own and chip in some points against ...

Trade the little prick as part of a package with Philly. I'd be keen to find out what Clarkie was offering this summer. Even if it's just a couple of good prospects, fine, and we can use the cap space elsewhere depending on the package of the deal. Personally I'd like to see that little punk plaster...
