This is a stroke of genius for the NHL. I can't even begin to fathom the number of ways in which this will help their marketing efforts.

While I hated the nature of Flames Hockey the year they went to the finals I really don't understand the hatred for Calgary at this point, they were a one year wonder. I think thats been pretty well born out at this point. They are a good team roughly on par with this Canucks team and playing the sa...

Although the notion of the Sedins being in the doghouse is obviously stupid, there is no doubt that they were and have tired as games have worn on. Although the Sedins are extremely talented they are still quite slow, that means that just keeping up in the new NHL is going to be a significant hardsh...

While I agree that he played a perimeter game last year, I don't think that anyone is going to argue that Bert has taken as much lumber in the last 5 years as anyone in the league. I would quite frankly be shocked if he didn't have significant scaring and permanent tissue damage in his lower back.

First off Bert doesn't make throwaway statements, second I got that feeling before that statement was ever made. I understand what your saying and I doubt he comes back simply because as with most emotional guys he will calm down and let the past slip quickly. In fact I could easily see him retiring...

A couple of things, first clearly the Sedins were a huge part of Ansons success. I don't really think there was alot debate on that subject really. However it should be noted that to a large extent Anson layed down the framework of how to play with the Sedins, if anyone doesn't think that Pyatt has ...

I can't honestly say I have any sympathy. I can understand that someone could have a problem but to not seek help when you have a million dollars or so left at the very least? That's just the kind of egotistical stupidity that separates the players I respect from the ones I don't.

Exactly, its not like there is a shortage of spots for good north American talent, the guys these Europeans are replacing are the guys with virtually no shot at the NHL regardless of where they play. Bringing in the skilled Euro's who have a real shot simply raises the aggregate talent level of the ...

While I have to agree that its good shes gone from the CBC, I weep for what I know she will do to the Olympics. Bad enough that it won't be the CBC (who have done the best job of the Olympics in the world) but to have maybe the worst aspect of CBC sports integrated... And don't even get me started o...

Yeah, but in the NHL there is this persistent belief that if you keep repeating something, it becomes true, in spite of all the evidence to the contrary. e.g. "Expansion watered down the league"; "Dan is our number one guy"; "We're making inroads into the U.S. market", "Mark Messier is the greatest...

Don Cherry is tick on the ass of Canada, players should go where they choose to go. The IIHF doesn't like the fact that many young players want to come over to get their best shot at being an NHLer in order to protect their domestic leagues. I don't agree with the insane amount of resources we put i...

Jovanovski is overpaid, and a defensive liability... sure he can dazzle with big hits and score fancy goals but he just isnt what the Canucks need. They need defense... cuz DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS.... Not that I want to go through proving it again, but this is simply completely untrue. Defense d...
