to which I respond qua? doesn't everyone remember when this guy was drafted and he was projected to be a very good 3rd line center or at best a defensive 2nd line center? Where did this notion that he would ever be a scorer come from?

Just throwing out a few points here: 1) its very debateable how much he has left in the tank, hes always been a fragile player, acctually hasn't accomplished much away from Colorado in that he couldn't lead a very good philly team out of the first round and quite frankly is overrated-although still ...

And just when was the last time Ohlund played in the weaker Eastern Conference in front of the biased eastern media that goes to sleep before Ohlund plays 90% of his games? Suggesting that a guy playing on the Canucks, one of the showcase teams of the last 5 or so years doesn't get seen is complete...

Hmm, let's just see, shall we? Blake, Redden, Zubov, arguably Chara, Stewert (sic) Pitkanen, Phaneuf, Bouwmeester, Meszaros, arguably Jovonovski, and while we're at it, how about Regehr & McCabe? I listed 13 guys that quite frankly anyone who knows about hockey to any real extent wouldn't argue wit...

Edler wasn't exactly burning it up either and hes looked more then competent. Giving Coulombe a chance is hardly going to hurt the team. I was however under the impression that Salo was ready to go thursday and Mitchell is a maybe? have things changed?

Okay, put down the pipe, son. You simply don't trade one of the top 10 d men in the league, unless his wife hates Edmonton or something. Your calling Ohlund a top 10 D man and telling him to put down the pipe? I wouldn't. Scoring forwards are easier to come by than quality defensemen, and a team ca...

Why does calling the drafting of Bordoun a fiasco have to be unfair to Bordoun? Bordoun is not a bad prospect, I thought he was Canada's best defenseman at the WJC's which is to say I rated him higher then most. I still think he has great potential, I think that he could become a good #1 defenseman ...

Are these proposed players not under contract with Euro teams at the moment? Thus making your point moot? Hardly, these are three guys I named off the top of my head that could be obtained through transfer agreements easily enough. Just because its not normally done in the NHL doesn't make it impos...

The upside to them playing here and now is that it allows us to ice the best team possible. That is a statement to what is waiting in the wings down on the farm - a sad one at that. This is a stupid statement, there are literally DOZENS of defenseman that can make as much of a contribution as these...

Bourdon should be sent down, keep Edler up for another 8 games and send him down to. There is no point in having these guys here, it will hamper their development while at best helping the team a minuscule amount. Their is no upside to having them up.

While I agree that we need scorers the fact of the matter is that at this point its all about the future. We aren't close to a cup, so we should go with the better players. Mo won't win a cup with this team, Ohlund, Salo, Linden, Mitchell, and most likely naslund simply won't be here when our next g...

While our drafting has improved (with the exception of the Bourdon fiasco), the single biggest problem that DN has isn't with the evaluation of talent its with the understanding that the lower the free agency age gets the heavier the advantage of selecting relatively quickly maturing forwards over d...

Nonis would be NUTS not to do this, it would be an upgrade in talent and on a salary dump while also improving the teams age. I think people have to get past the notion of Mo as a skilled forward as its becoming increasingly apparent that hes simply not. Consider how often over the last 5 years the ...
