Re: Moving one of our Top 4 defenseman for a Top 6 Forward

Since then we've seen contracts for guys like Alex Burrows, Kevin Bieksa, Alex Edler, Chris Tanev, Chris Higgens and Jannik Hansen all expire, just retaining those guys has cost us what, $7-8m (15% of the cap)? Interesting point – It’s actually an increase of $10,375,000 from ...

Re: Canucks Vs Sharks, Round I

... I think we'll be OK. Another game like tonight where we play hoping we can pull out a win, and we're toast. My Game 2 lineup is: Dank-Hank-Kass Higgens-Kesler-Raymond Hansen-Roy-Burrows Sestito-Lapierre-Weise Hamhuis-Garrison Edler-Bieksa Alberts-Corrado SCHNEIDER

Sedin-Sedin-Burrows Raymond-Kesler-Hansen Higgens-Roy-Kassian Sestito-Lapierre-Weise Pinizzotto Booth, if healthy, could really slot in anywhere. Fingers crossed he is on a fast path to recovery. ...

Re: Canucks News and Notes

Good signing, although I'm not crazy about the four year term. I would have preferred a two or three year deal. I really like Higgens as a player. He can play on basically any line, and is comfortable on either wing. He produces at a second line pace, is a solid two way player, kills ...

... has always been more of a mucker, a net crasher, and a setup guy, while Kesler is a shoot first centre. They could work together. Clowe-Kesler-Higgens? I also feel that the Sedins look like they need a mix-up, which is why I advocated putting the cold Kassian with the cold Sedins to see if ...

... season. Could be a decent low risk gamble. We need help down the middle, and especially on the faceoff dot. $3M for Jokinen may mean bye bye to Higgens or Raymond though.

Re: GDT - Mar 23 Van @ LA 1:00 PST SNET

At this point, bringing back Raymond and Higgens are no-brainer moves unless there is a better option. Unfortunately, Booth is not a better option at the moment. Hansen still has a year left, fortunately. Nice to see Garrison and Schroeder playing ...

Re: So, who would you like in a return for Luongo

... Oh, of course! :D Booth is injured - can't bitch about him. Kassian has had a fantastic start to the season - can't bitch about him. "Journeyman" Higgens played great against Edmonton - can't bitch about him. The result of Gillis' worst move to date, Keith Ballard, has been playing well this season ...

... for a reason. I'd be shocked to see him a healthy scratch in the playoffs. I do like Pot's idea of putting Lapierre with Kassian and Raymond/Higgens/Hansen though. Knowing AV, I'm sure it will be tried. Unlike Malhotra and Pahlsson, Lapierre actually has some offensive abilities. A line of ...

Re: Canucks Acquire David Booth & Parts + Various Rumours

Higgens looked good pretty much as soon as he arrived. He didn't produce much ofensivly but he had a very easy time fitting in to both the system in the team. In is not a fair comparison though. Higgens has played for 5 different ...

... stay in Vancouver could be very short lived if he continues to struggle and Hodgson and Kesler develop any chemistry. Actually, the same goes with Higgens, who has been one of our better players since his arrival last spring.
