Re: Can someone please explain why...

Absolutely should not have counted. If Tikonov didn't have "control" to warrant the play being whistled down under Rule 33, then the goal still should have been disallowed under Rule 78.5 (xi), which is unambiguous. You would think somebody on the Canucks' bench should know these Rules like the back...

Jussi Jokinen on waivers?

http://www2.tbo.com/content/2009/feb/05/sp-veteran-roberts-back-jokinen-waived-again/sports-lightning/ Apoligies if I'm rehashing a previous discussion that may have come up the last time he was on waivers, but... Anybody see any value in picking this guy up? The report on him used to be that he ha...

I heard the delivery was difficult, as the baby was wearing oversized leg pads.

Sorry, Turco moment. :-)

Congrats Luongos.

Wow. Was not expecting THAT.

But if his foot issue was so bad a week ago that he was "unlikely" to return this season, I'd not bet money on his being able to stay healthy through the end of the season.

Let's hope that he reason Ohlund went home is settled and his mind will be on the game
Not that it's anybody's business, I guess, but I'm nosy and curious -- does anybody have any idea what the personal matter was? Had to be pretty serious to take him away given the injury problems.

A real zambonehead move by TSN. Even if they intended to show all of the Toronto game, shootout included, over the whole network, they could have at least made some effort to cut to the Vancouver game for a couple of minutes when it became apparent that the stupid zamboni saga was dragging on. Pisse...

Maybe Louie, Kipper and Marty made a pact to give some of the younger guys a head start in the race for the Vezina. ;)

Slow start for Louie

Slow as in, he's looked a bit 'average' -- defence meltdowns aside. (I note that Kiprusoff and Brodeur aren't doing any better. Maybe a virus afflicting only elite goalies?) Anyway, as for Roberto, anyone concerned?

Injuries

Both Linden and Mitchell said bad ice at the team's Victoria training camp at Bear Mountain Arena, combined with some lengthy conditioning skates, contributed to the long list of players nursing sore groins. Forwards Byron Ritchie, Rick Rypien and Ryan Kesler are also being hampered by sore groins....

Orts and SRsez -- all due respect, but... get a room already!

You know, like maybe start a permanent "flame" thread so pissing matches like the above will have somewhere to while the rest of us post/read about oh, I don't know, the Canucks?

Just a thought.

Um, literally, the "face of the franchise" is the Orca. And, correct me if I'm wrong, Fin was present. Or was that Dave Pratt firing t-shirts out of a bazooka?
