Re: Be an All-Star- Donate to the Site

Apologies for the tardiness Brian, but have sent $100.00 off to help with the costs...

Take care...

Re: The Rebuild...

Just imagine what he could do with more late round picks! Oh the irony.... On one hand we should get rid of everybody for a bunch of rounds 4 thru 7 draft picks because we can find impact players there but on the other hand we are p*ssed off because we will never win the first overall pick only hav...

Re: The Rebuild...

C ontrary to your sentence above, there have been quite a few late round picks who have turned into core players. Even if we dispense with the 3rd round - e.g. Richards (3rd), Quick (3rd), Messier (3rd), Lidstrom (3rd), Roy (3rd) - there have been a number of core players that have been drafted in t...

Re: The Rebuild...

Yeah I forget who it was they had on 1040 some draft Guru a couple weeks back, he basically said that where the Canucks were with the current contracts on aging players, awful prospect pool and lack of young players on the team he thought in his mind at the time it was a 7 year rebuild from when Be...

Re: The Rebuild...

3/ Sedins are for sure coming back 4/ Edler will still be a top 3 D man with or without Tanev here. Depth d man lol !!!!!! Awesome, keep the same slugs that have stunk for the better part of five years. No need to change it up. Get the band back together. They’ve shown amazing loyalty to a crappy c...

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 17-18 Sponsored by SKYO

But either way you spin it, out on ice product is little better than Edmonton’s has been for the past 12 years. As far as the rebuilding goes he is doing fine and I suspect that we are 12-18 months behind schedule because of ownership, not because of his ineptitude. Man, you are all over the place ...

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 17-18 Sponsored by SKYO

. This is why picks should be stockpiled and blunders at the draft table minimized especially in the top 10. For me, its about finding a future core group of about 5 to 8 elite players in order to be a legit Cup contender and until they find those players the upside is a middle of the pack team... S...

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 17-18 Sponsored by SKYO

The only real difference is that the Coilers rushes their kids way too fast. lol, that's pretty much the point isn't it? Since you don't like the Benning approach, I'm curious to know how you think the team should fill out its roster if it isn't putting kids in the lineup who aren't ready? You can'...

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 17-18 Sponsored by SKYO

Which type of team do we want on the ice while rebuilding? Are you serious? Focusing on wins and losses and where the team ends in the standings is not what a rebuilding team does...That's what a fan does when they say they want to tear it down but can't stomach the product it produces... If you wa...

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 17-18 Sponsored by SKYO

Genius Jim couldn't spell rebuild until 2017. Not sure how much of this kind of talk is parroting the media or is your own opinion? For me, rebuilding or retooling is mischaracterizing what the debate is really about... Which is what type of team do you want to ice while rebuilding/retooling? The B...

Re: Canucks News and Notes 2017-2018

... in the "help now" department Tkachuk was definitely the better pick. Try to focus on 1-2 years from now... Sure 1-2,years from now the Canucks are still retooling on the fly. Wonder what the fans in Detroit think of their GM's position on rebuild vs re tool? http://www.thehockeynews.com/news/ar...

Re: Canucks News and Notes 2017-2018

Wasn't going to mention it, and I don't want to throw a damper on the Jake enthusiasm, in Particular my own, but I saw him go to throw a hit on someone and that someone moved. He hit, I think, his right shoulder into the backboards. He carried on ok, but I think it hurt. Can't remember if it was in...

Re: Canucks News and Notes 2017-2018

Well a couple of benefits imho. First, allows Labate, Carcone and maybe Virtanen to keep developing and to keep building chemistry as part of the future. Second, depth. There will inevitably be injuries so having depth to call up will be critical. Third, team chemistry. What players will gel better...

Re: Canucks News and Notes 2017-2018

Labate. That's who I forgot. He had a few solid hits and played a safe game. He's Utica bound. But if he keeps developing I think he will be a Blob favourite. Big, strong and loves to hit. I'd rather keep White and let Labate develop another year. Once pre season is done, I'd prefer the team go wit...

Re: Competitive and/or Contending

Nice to see UW have some 'hope' for the future! And good points Udub. The missing player in your assessment is Nikita Tryamkin, he could come back in 2-3 years just when our prospects our coming around. His ceiling is unknown, but as a young rookie dman he started to show a lot of promise of beastm...
