Brunnstrom

There has been alot of recent discussion that Brunnstrom has now narrowed his Canadian team choices down to Montreal. http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/2008/05/01/brunnstrom_three_teams/ Is it me or should this guy just make his frickin decision? There has been enough hype on this guy and I was guilty ...

Of course Hossa is only worth getting if he is signed long term. It would have to be a trade similar to Luongo. It is only made with an agreement on a new contract. Preferably 4 years. The room to sign him will happen when Naslund and Morrison's contracts expire. I'd rather spend $6 - $7M on him tha...

Hossa and Brunnstrom

I am surprised that this hasn't been brought up yet but I feel very strongly that Nonis should make a move for Marian Hossa. Most of the rumours have involved Sundin to this point which is a nice pickup but he has the age factor. Hossa on the other hand is young, proven and exactly what we need to f...

Jerseys Revealed

Who came up with the new design? They should be fired as they are completely awful. Tell me why "VANCOUVER" is written above the Orca on the home blues. I think the fans know which city they are from. I was really banking on something innovative and unique. All they did is swap the logo on the old r...

Shannon has been signed

http://www.sportsnet.ca/soccer/article.jsp?content=20070718_130946_5508 Not a critical signing but a shrewd one that will hopefully payoff. He is a fast player who fits the mould of the Buffalo Sabres' Derek Roy. He will help the 3rd line. I am starting to like Nonis' actions towards this year's fre...

LUONGO WAS ROBBED!!!!

I needed to get that off my chest this morning. He deserved at least one of the awards he was nominated for. Personally I think that should've been the Hart and possibly the Vezina. He was the most valuable Canuck who single handedly won the first round of the playoffs for the team. Crosby is unbeli...

"I mean, the kid isn't a fighter, yet he's the only player on the squad who drops his gloves against Iginla. He tears his labrum in his hip on October 31, yet goes on playing his uptempo game for 11 weeks - ELEVEN FRICKING WEEKS - even though he could barely walk up a flight of stairs or get out of...

This contract is disgusting. Kesler is worth no more than $1.0 million at most. Was he not supposed to be resigned for 2 or 3 years at $900K before the Flyers altered that? Here is a guy that misses 34 games, puts up brutal offensive numbers and gets paid like he really makes a contribution to the t...

I watched the CBC Interview last night and went away with even less respect for Steve Moore. I do feel bad for the guy, don't get me wrong but I couldn't help thinking that the interview was merely a ploy to help his case in swindling $19 million from the Canucks in his lawsuit. The part of the inte...

Just reading the posts here and I was surprised to see all the negativity about Sopel. I think he is a good pickup. While he had some mental lapses in the past he is a decent d-man with a good offensive upside. It is exactly what the Canucks need to get some secondary scoring. He will fit in immedia...

No word yet on the actual logo change but rumblings speculate someth...

Edmonton Game

I am quite impressed with how Alain Vigneault has the Canucks playing since Christmas. There is a different identity to this team with a solid work ethic. Last night's game was very promising. It was an important game in order to make the playoffs. The Canucks were down but not out and their hardwor...

The Cauncks won't lose much at all with Kesler out. He is an overpriced, 3rd line calibre player. I am hoping DN either signs him for $800K next year or lets him go if he asks for anything more. Yes he has speed & is a good PK specialist but after that he doesn't bring anything extra. He needs to pu...

No wonder no one ever wants to play for Vancouver. I am sorry Farhan Lalji but that has to be one of the dumbest posts ever. We are already in a rebuilding phase why would you dump your whole team for a bunch of kids with no guarantee that they will be top notch pros. Why would Nonis trade Ohlund, t...

Personally I like the Whale logo. It represents the west coast well and is done in an aboriginal representation. I just wish they stuck with the 1994 style jerseys with the black, red, yellow and white. That uniform style was awesome and combining that with the new whale logo would have looked good....
