I am enjoying watching the defense-challenged Dallas Stars ebbing in the second round - in part due to their choice of Russell over Hamhuis.
Mmmmmm...

Re: I can't believe it's NOT a suspension!
Wow, if Virtanen - rookie non-previous-offender - gets 2 games for that harmless interference - then Keith would get 1 Billion games for his stick swinging.
But let me guess, I will be incorrect.

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)
Is Vesey.. what.. the sixth guy in the last decade or so to do this? Is the best NHLer (of the guys whose original teams weren't compensated) Justin Schultz or am I missing someone? Blake Wheeler is probably the highest profile player to do this... the Canucks signed Billy Sweatt (Chicago 2nd round...

Re: Lineup Predictions 2016-17
Oh shit, I missed Drouin. I guess we trade Hansen too. With all the trades we will have a few more draft picks, some this year, some 2018. Drouin will get the third line, Sutter moves down to the fourth replacing Hansen. Hahaha - that is the problem with Sutter, isn't it? At $4.375M he should be in...

Sedin-Sedin-Rodin Baertschi-Matthews-Stamkos Lucic-Horvat-Sutter Hansen-Granlund-Gaunce Grenier-Etem Virtanen to Utica Vey gone McCann traded in a deal for Drouin Then wouldn't Drouin be in the NHL lineup? You'd hope he beats out Gaunce, Grenier, Etem... Dorsett traded to Columbus because Torts lik...

Re: Lineup Predictions 2016-17
O.K. I'll give this a try: Sedin, Sedin, Etem Okposo, Sutter, Hansen Baertschi, Horvat, Virtanen Rodin, McCann, Dorsett Hutton, Tanev Edler, Sbisa Tryamkin, Subban (this could be fun) Markstom/Miller I'm just messing around, God only knows    Some comments: - Etem as a 1st line wi...

Re: Lineup Predictions 2016-17
Why Erickson? He's too small. Also, we have about $11 million left over given your projected line-up. We can find a true #4 D-man (sorry Biega, you ain't it), and another $4mil forward, or an $8million forward instead of Erickson. I also think Virtanen will be up all next season. I am not advocatin...

Lineup Predictions 2016-17
You'd think the Canucks will sign a free agent winger - and most likely it will be Lucic (LA) or Eriksson (Bos)... my guess is Loui Eriksson. McCann and Virtanen will likely bounce back and forth to Utica... and players like Gaunce, Zalewski, Grenier, Friesen, Kenins, Cassels, etc. don't look likely...

Derek Dorsett, Luca Sbisa = they fill roles at the NHL level Nick Bonino = We had to get a stopgap middle 6 centre back in the Kesler deal Linden Vey = was a gamble (for the 50th o/a) that may not pay off. (shrug) Ryan Miller = is an average #1 goalie on an average #1 goalie salary. Radim Vrbata = ...
