Well deserved. He has been a pleasant surprise this year. In fact, he is arguably the most consistent defenceman on a solid Canucks blueline this season.

This move simply doesn't make sense to me, apart from the disturbing trend Vigneault displays of lacking patience with offensively talented players who (admittedly) need to improve their play without the puck. Instead, Vigneault would rather pack his bench with plumbers who are (admittedly) sound de...

I certainly don't miss all the stupid penatlies he took during his time here.

My first Canucks memory (or, at least, the one that sticks with me today) is the first Canucks game I attended with my Dad. February 4, 1987 at the Pacific Coliseum. The Canucks beat the New York Islanders 4-1. I am pretty sure Tony Tanti scored for the Canucks but I can't remember who scored any of...

Most of the people commenting here have made the point but it bears reiteration, if only to ensure we all keep a level head about ourselves. Mark Recchi is finished. Done. There is nothing more he can contribute to the team than Trevor Linden already does--and consider for a moment how much he is pl...

Assuming Sanford starts on Friday against the Blues (his former team), which I think is a logical assumption, he more than likely starts tonight.

This way, you avoid playing Luongo in back-to-back games, less than 24 hours apart, in two different cities.

I don't like this move at all, for a couple of reasons. First, and most obvious, it makes no sense for a guy like Brown to fight Boogaard. Boogaard is approximately seven inches taller and weighs considerably more. Brown is likely to be dropped, quickly, if he chooses to engage Boogaard. Second, and...

These revisionists coming out of the woodwork might want to consider one interesting point: Prior to the drafting of Bourdon, the Canucks had been regularly slated for not drafting 'good ol' dependable Canadian kids'. Even the drafting of Umberger and Kesler was questioned, especially after Umberge...

Indeed. How can we dismiss, out of hand, the possibility of trading Kesler to pick up a player such as Carter. The fact of the matter is that to get a player of Carter's calibre (and potential) via trade, you have to give up someone the Flyers think is desirable. The Flyers, as previous history indi...

He is also a UFA, providing teams even less incentive to give something up for him.

Bryzgalov is only making US$1.36 million this season, meaning he comes for around a million for the remainder of it.

It seems to me, demand/money is less of an issue than the opportunity to pick him up via waivers, without conceding an asset.
