Re: W Where are the long term members of *this* board?
I barely visit this board at all anymore since the influx. Before, the signal-to-noise ratio was high. Now, I have to wade through a bunch of inanity and insults to read anything insightful. That's life, the boards are more popular now, and I know the little bit of participating I used to do isn't m...

Re: Rome Suspension
Wow, that's a very similar hit, with one key difference. The Tampa player never had the puck. Oh, and it was a Bruins player making the hit.

Re: R4G3 - Canucks @ Bruins - Monday - 7pm
and why the heck would Rome be suspended? late hit? yup. 5 and a game? yup. Rule 48? nope. I suppose no one knows for sure, but he does have a meeting in the morning: NHL spokesman Frank Brown said the league would hold a hearing at 11 a.m. on Tuesday with Rome. The league is in its first full seas...

Re: R4G3 - Canucks @ Bruins - Monday - 7pm
Canucks have to get back to playing Canucks hockey. Alberts out, Rome suspended, Ballard and Tanev in (unless Hamhuis is ready?). Luongo stays in, he'll bounce back. Offensively, not sure what they will want to switch up. The leadership in the room will make everyone forget this one and get the focu...

Re: R4G3 - Canucks @ Bruins - Monday - 7pm
Ouch. I turned it off at 3-0 and wasted my time elsewhere. My anxiety this morning was that we were going to see the return of 7uongo (what the Flames fans call him) in this series, and I guess that's turned out to be the case, even though he's certainly blameless for the first 2. Looking at the sco...

Re: Torres gets 4 games
I'm hoping he gets another suspension. Didn't like that hit at all. Canucks don't need to injure other players to win.

Re: Western Conf. Possible Playoff Matches (after Sat Apr 9)
Aye, I used _can_ finish 5,7, 8 ... not will. But no worries.
Not sure about my preference re: Hawks or Stars. I suppose whichever teams means less travel (one of the top reasons for my preference that it be the Kings)

Re: Western Conf. Possible Playoff Matches (after Sat Apr 9)
Ah geez, I'll never understand the NHL rankings system. Apparently, if three or more teams have the same points, the first tiebreaker goes to points and ROW wins, and then amongst the teams still tied, it goes to season series against all the other teams tied (not on an individual basis). So... edit...

Re: Possible playoff matchups (after Fri Apr 8)
With LA's regulation loss to the Ducks, the possible scenarios reduce quite a bit. Canucks can now only face 3 possible opponents: Los Angeles, Chicago, or Dallas. Chicago and Dallas continue to fight for a playoff spot. Dallas needs a regulation or OT win and Chicago needs a regulation loss for Dal...

Re: Possible playoff matchups (after Fri Apr 8)
I'm hoping for Chicago to gain a point / LA regulation loss or Chicago win / LA loss , so that we play the Kings.

Possible playoff matchups (after Fri Apr 8)
With the Phoenix win over San Jose today, we're down to 4 possible matchups. Interesting tidbit #1 : It is possible for teams from 4-8 to be tied with 99 points at the end of the year (Phoenix L to San Jose, Anaheim OT/SO Win over LA, Nashville L to St. Louis, Chicago W to Detroit) Interesting tidbi...

Re: GOODBYE PHOENIX?
Well, I'd prefer the Jets myself.
But, there is some good history there; Canada's first ever Ice Hockey Olympic Gold: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Winnipeg_Falcons. Still, the Jets were the winning-most team of Avco Cups.

Re: GOODBYE PHOENIX?
I, for one, would be sure to attend a Winnipeg NHL game every time I went home to visit, and buy tickets for my whole family there -- because it'll be cheaper than games in Vancouver, that's for sure.
Predicted name? Winnipeg Falcons.
