Re: World Championship 2018

I worry about the Canadian goaltending. Russia might be a tall order.

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 17-18 Sponsored by SKYO

Tanev, edler, Sutter, gudbranson, mdz, even Gagner are all good locker room “mentors” I think the Kane locker room issues are overblown because buff ladd and wheeler are dicks. He was fine in buffalo from what I’ve seen and heard from buffalo fans. Hmm interesting. Tanev is injured half the time an...

Re: Canucks News and Notes 2017-2018

Lawrence Gilman was talking about this on 1040 yesterday. He mentioned that the Canucks modelled Young-Stars after a Phoenix/California tournament. The difference being that that tournament rotated the venue. Why don't they simply do that for Young Stars? Rotate it between Penticton, Red Deer, and s...

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 17-18 Sponsored by SKYO

Kane is certainly an interesting talking point. The Sharks are saying he was great, "bought in" and all that, but of course he did. How hard is it to buy in to a playoff run with a decent team when you grew up playing hockey in Canada? Not to mention he's also playing for his FA windfall. I think if...

Re: World Championship 2018

Hey Per,

Pettersson didn't play versus Austria and there are rumours of flu, mononucleosis, etc. Local radio this morning was having a tantrum about the lack of information coming out of the World' Championships, so I say ask our man on the ground in Sweden... any news?

Re: Playoffs

Agreed. I think that licking/kissing stuff with Marchand should have been an unsportsmanlike call.

Re: Playoffs

If I recall, he pushed Thornton's hand away and continued talking with the ref, which was the point of standing there in the first place. If you want somebody to play patty-cake with Thornton, get the minor-hockey kid that skates out for the anthem.

Re: Canucks Young Guns

I'm not going to investigate this, but I suspect modern tennis players are in better shape than any previous generations in exactly the same way as all the athletes in other sports.

Mick you're kinda jumping up and down and ranting more than usual ;)

Re: The Official CC "All Thing Leaves" thread

I really can’t find a way to be happy with anyone winning in this series. It’s this unpleasant twisty feeling no matter who wins each game.

Re: So long, farewell, good bye to the Sedins

There's very little similarity between the sports/entertainment world of today and the 70s Habs. The week's events are examples of the showcase things you do to maintain and draw interest. It strengthens the brand and sells tickets. Having said that, the Sedins were also 3rd and 4th on the team in p...

Re: Canucks News and Notes 2017-2018

Try to sign him, no question. Doesn't matter if they are 3 years away from contending. They are still going to need somebody >23 playing up front. It might as well be a highly-skilled, versatile, CHARACTER guy like Tavares. Price hardly matters. The trouble is I think the Islanders will re-sign him.

Re: Canucks News and Notes 2017-2018

This city is obsessed with wears the letter C No more than any other Canadian city or good hockey market. we've been the most pushed around team in the league.....and certainly the most disrespected (by fans, refs, and the league alike) elite team I've ever watched in this league. Do you think this...
