Re: GDT: 06/02/19; Leaves vs Canucks>6pm>SNETP

The Leaves were undefeated when going into the third with the lead, this season. 32-0-0

Make that 32-0-1

Can’t stand those asshole Leaf fans in our house. Hope they all paid $1500 a seat and left depressed.

Mick, if you're going to place all the blame for this game on Green, do you also give him sole credit for when they have played well?

Re: Trade Deadline, Feb.25, 2019 ?

But the trade was made at the request of Dahlen. He wanted to be called up or traded. Its as simple as that. Inmates, asylum, etc. Demanding a trade at age 20? Whatever. This move seems very premature to me. Dahlen is still really young. On the other hand, as Carl notes, the Baertschi trade turned ...

Re: Trade Deadline, Feb.25, 2019 ?

[...] didn't Benning know the type of game Gudbranson brings, or the type of game the Canucks want to play, before he made the trade ? Is there no plan, no blueprint ? Well, to be fair, that was 3 seasons ago. No Pettersson, no Boeser, no Gaudette, no Hughes, and the Sedins still the top line and e...

Re: Trade Deadline, Feb.25, 2019 ?

I'm uncertain about losing the very little toughness we had. There was an argument made last week by one of the goalies (Auld or Hirsch) that Gudbranson might be a lot more sound if paired with a skilled partner, that is leaving him to be the bank it off the glass guy while providing some policing f...

I’m starting figure out rugby. It IS good. And agreed on 7s... great pace to that. I should go check out 7s live one of these days. There are lots of Vic, Van tournaments.

Thanks, Mick.

While y'all check out the DiPietro details in the Biech link, scroll down to the Madden highlights. That kid's looking impressive.

Re: NFL Thread: Thoughts on the game south of the 49th

Heh... I thought it was fairly compelling! It's one thing when the score is low and both offenses are terrible, it's another when it's due to great defense.

If football is boring, how do you make it through a baseball game? (that question may not apply to you, Per)

Damn. We can find any flukey way to get injured. Not just flukey and minor, but flukey and NASTY. Was his stick tied-up in the Flyers' skate? It was a weird way to go down.

In that game, Nilsson also let one in from behind the goal line by not being tight to the post.

Re: Vancouver's Hockey "Media"

The Rintoul-Walker program is usually OK, but otherwise 650 is very repetitive and generally not good. Most segments seem to consist of them belabouring their point for 10 minutes too long.

I blame Reef. Never taunt from a position of uncertainty. 😉

Nobody’s going to comment on the bad luck aspects? The tying goal and Dobson’s stick breaking are brutally low on likelihood scale.

Mind you, Canada looked tired and hanging on ... didn’t look undeserved by Finland.

Ack. Still sucks.

Re: 2019 Wolrd Junior Championships coming to Vancouver

It speaks to how dangerous the US are. They were manhandled for 50 minutes but were able to score 4 with the man-advantage (via PP or goalie pulled).

Don’t take penalties against them..
