Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

Ok old friend... has Elmer fucked up any trade(s) or a signing(s)? That's off-topic in this thread good buddy... Good to see you returned from Bridal Falls in one piece The Kootenays... and I've been "drinking like Blob" for three weeks now! :drunk: I’ve been drinking like Blob. My liver is torched...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

Lol at Kesler challenging Johansen to a fight from 1000 miles away. RJ stepped on his stick in that scrap but Rk being the chicken shit that he is thinks he somehow won his first ever fight Kesler resides inside Mr Johansen's head, it's hilarious the number he's done on the big schmuck over the las...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

[*] I wanted both Ladd and Brouwer at reduced term and cap hit but I can see why you would leave that out. You wanted Brouwer for “4 years at $4.25M"... and he got 4 years at $4.5M. :eh: (recall me digging up that post in the Bountiful thread 2 weeks ago) It was a horrible buy-it-out contract at $4....

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 18-19 Sponsored by SKYO

You’d be better off to mention the players Vancouver had a chance at drafting in 08-10 that would have had an impact in the 11 playoffs. As said already Karlsson was rated in the late 20s and obviously was a great gamble. Using him is a bit disingenuous. Who are the guys the Canucks could have legi...

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 18-19 Sponsored by SKYO

That’s what smart GMs do when rebuilding. More lottery tickets= more chances to draft a good player. Point is nobody drafted two seasons earlier was likely going to make much of an impact on a cup run. All players easily squeezed on to a payroll in a cap system, the same can’t be said about a Norri...

Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver

The best offer tabled for Karlsson was by Tampa - a stay at home, average skating D-man - Foote, a first pick ( which would have been somewhere between 28th and 31st and a 2nd round pick which would have been somewhere around 60th. How exactly is that a good haul for a Norris Trophy D-man? It has n...

Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver

Lol Stone has averaged ten more points a year and is three years younger and a much better two way player. Yes they are exactly the same. Duchene has averaged five more points and plays a more important position in addition to being to years younger. He has played for Team Canada in a best on ...

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 18-19 Sponsored by SKYO

Bo, Gaunce and Hutton are the only players left that were drafted by the last regime. If you include the entire league, Connauton and Schroeder round out the abysmal era that was Gillis & co. 37 draft picks over six entry drafts and only one single legitimate player. Absolutely appalling. Y...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

Ryan Ellis signs an eight year deal for 6.25 million per. Good player, decent cap hit. Roman Josi is there best D man and criminally underpaid at 4 million per. He has two more years left. His next contract will start with an 8 or 9 instead of a 4. I wonder if there’s some truth to Nashville shoppin...

Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver

I think we are lottery team again this year, but probably in the 8 - 12 range. We will be introducing a few rookies and do a sell off after. It is the year after I think we will make the playoffs. Only 1 more year of pain, IMO. I think they could pass five or six in the east and maybe one or two in...

I'd say we are picking outside the top 15 next year.
I’d love to know which 7 teams in the West you think Vancouver will finish ahead of
