Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 17-18 Sponsored by SKYO

If I had to guess, I'd say Pouliot may be the odd man out. Now I am well aware that friendships shouldn't count but quite often, they do. Hutton is very well liked by his team mates. In particular, Horvat, Stecher and now Brock. Those four are pretty tight. We're not building a country club. Hutton...

Re: Playoffs

He’s not a lot better than mantha. Ritchie sure. Also horvat would feed tkachuk his lunch if he ever got mad enough as would virtanen, both guys are bigger and stronger. Bobby Farnham. Virtanen man handled bobby farnham Horvat and Virtanen aren’t fighters at all. They avoid it at all costs

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 17-18 Sponsored by SKYO

The scary part of trading Hutton is it puts the Canucks into farm team status, which is the same strategy the Oilers seemed to have used for years. They keep trading young players before they have fully developed. In general teams should wait till defensemen are 25 or 26 before they make a well inf...

Re: Playoffs

Tom Wilson, TBL Paquette etc showing why you need some big gritty dudes with the tangibles to fight out a series, something analytics types wish they can measure in their stats, but never will. Even Jets and Vegas (Reaves) have some heavy hitters to help their depth and skill guys out. Meanwhile th...

Re: Playoffs

Well RG that’s where Doc has become more of a clown act lately. He won’t admit that Elmer has made a questionable move let alone a poor one. It’s fun to see him dig up all these old archives and shit but objectivity is a swear word to him. He’s not capable of it

Re: Playoffs

I’m pretty sure Elmer would agree if he drank some truth serum. He grossly miscalculated the abilities of Birdbones and Dana Gudbranson. Could easily replace those slugs in UFA and save the picks and prospects.

Re: Playoffs

I said it was hindsight on my part. But even if he got the original package he should have held onto Bonino and dealt him at last years deadline and not given up a ransom for lumbering Erik Murzyn. Trade McCann for a d man that could skate and let Sbisa walk in 2015. If you really need an Erik Muryz...

Re: Playoffs

In hindsight Elmer should have targeted purely futures in that Kesler deal. He should have never targeted Sutter or Gudbranson in later trades and just signed guys in UFA as two or three year placeholders. He gave away too many picks and prospects. I think he’s learned the foolishness of his ways......

Re: The Official CC "All Thing Leaves" thread

/ His big battle was with Babcock to take Marner over Hanifin in the draft, which worked out well in the short term, but I think longer term Hanifin could be more valuable to a team. meh who knows. Ya, I noticed that in the Toronto (slash national) coverage that Hunter was being praised for that pi...

Sbisa is a significant piece?

Dorsett is top 9?

Wow the bar is low here in Canuck land.
These same people would have you believe injuries cost Vancouver a playoff spot.

Re: Playoffs

Just because McPhee picked him doesn’t mean he was a good player. I’m sure if they could have declined picking a Canuck and instead could have taken a second player from another team they would have. They were forced to take a Vancouver player
