Re: Elephant in the Room - Trade the Sedins

I don't recall Bo getting beaten individually in those matchups. His linemates weren't nearly what was required to matchup against those tougher opposing big guns. He was really the only decent faceoff guy we had, so he saw a ton of unfavourable deployments based on that alone. He was a -30 season....

His sophomore jinx was only point production. His intensity never waned. It's the intensity and fire that makes him a leader.
Intensity doesn't mean much if the guy can't score or gets beaten/scored upon often in matchups.

Re: GDT 20-02-18: Canucks vs Avs

Goldobin is having a great game. He skates well tonight. Yeah, Goldenshower has the hot hand tonite. He made a sweet pass to Dowd too, but Dowd whiffed on it. I always thought Goldenshower is a sniper type, but he seems more like a playmaking winger. He sees the ice well and man, he dishes out some...

Re: Elephant in the Room - Trade the Sedins

Bo became the unofficial leader of this team during his rookie year when he was the only player to consistently play with maximum effort and excitement during the first round against the Flames. His game had some warts, but nobody looked like they wanted it more than him, and everyone took notice. ...

Re: Elephant in the Room - Trade the Sedins

I’m not sure I like the idea of Sutter, Eriksson and Del Zotto being the go-to mentors starting next fall. Another year under the Sedins would go a long way for Horvat and Boeser, IMO. On the flip side, we might be a point now where the twins are holding the kids back. The future leaders (BoHo + Br...

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 17-18 Sponsored by SKYO

I don't want him and other players of his ilk as part of the future plans. I'd love to see him go at the TDD, but I doubt we'll get more than the proverbial bag of pucks (which really doesn't sound that bad). Hell - I'd settle for a 7th, considering the way Benning drafts. Trev and JB have been ver...

UFA dmen is expensive . Lots of people don't understand that concept. I dunno about that. The big names players can cost a lot, but there are usually a few middle tier guys that can be had for very reasonable dollars/term. We got MDZ on a real cap friendly deal and he has been very servic...

Re: Canucks News and Notes 2017-2018

Pretty affordable and low risk term for Gudbranson - 3 years - $4M per. Great signing, glad to see Guddy will be staying a board. I would have been willing to go with a 4 year deal, but 3 is fine. He probably would have got more as a UFA. It's pretty much the same deal Sbisa got, but I think Guddy ...

Re: GDT 17-02-18: Canucks vs Bruins - this could be ugly.

Nice to see Nielsson look like the Nielsson we had early on in the season again. When he's on, he looks like a Vezina goalie, when he's off, he looks like Cloutier in the playoffs. Like alot of our guys, he seems to be very streaky. I guess that's the difference between an average NHLer and a star p...

Vanekian finally showing some chemistry with the Sedins. Too bad, too little too late.

McSakic won that battle vs Guddy. He showed no fear to go back after Guddy, caused a turnover and made a good play on the early goal.

Oh well, #TankItTravis! :D

Pretty soon Kesler will want back.
Fuq that. In a couple years, I wanna see us beat the ducks in a playoff series and then move on to a Stanley Cup win. :P

Re: Canucks News and Notes 2017-2018

It’s smart not letting him (JB) approach the deadline with no deal. Now do the right thing and deal Gudbranson and Vanek and maybe even another player or two. Anything less than nine or ten picks in this draft is a failure. True dat. I was a bit afraid that JB might be a lame duck GM with no deal go...

Does "bust" cover Loui? Closing in on two years later, he's been a complete and utter disappointment here. I struggle to recall a Canucks player so bloody invisible on so many nights, at least at that paygrade (Gagner's pretty close but at a smaller cap hit and term fortunately). To read this week ...

Re: Isn't there a game @ Dallas at 1:00 GDT

Nice to see the dough boyz / whipping boyz come up with a big game (Jake + Boucher). Boucher showing some soft hands around the net (had a chance for hat trick), but made the most of his chances. I did like him last year as he showed a nice touch around the net. Hopefully Travis gives him a good loo...
