Flames and Canucks are trying to clear cap space from the bottom of their lineup.
If we send Schaller and/or Eriksson to Utica, will that put us under the cap?

Re: Canucks Contracts

Nice to see Brockstar get his contract done. Great cap hit for us, although we might have to pay him more later. If he proves he's a superstar, I have no problem paying him. 3 years is a great term for us as well. We should have Petey & Hughes 2nd contract done by then and we can see where Brock fit...

Re: GDT: VAN / cal & UTICA / cal - both games 9/16

In Calgary Jake was fantastic, Tons of speed. Effortless acceleration. Nice to see Jake respond with a strong statement after being in the doghouse a bit for his conditioning and some ppl already saying that he should be traded. Jake is at his best when he's flying down the wing and ripping his dea...

Re: Training Camp - 2019

Jake Krutov or Vladimir Virtanen? I've heard Jake say that he could walk by a hotdog stand and he'd gain 10 pounds just passing by. Unfortunately, that's his weakness and he has a body type that gains weight easy. It's something he'll have to be constantly aware of and work on. https://twitter.com/...

Re: Training Camp - 2019

Over simplifying : He eats too much. Yeah, Jake's basically our new Krutov, except he's Finnish-Canadian. I know he's supposed to be professional and the vast majority of players keep themselves in great shape all year round nowadays, but I wouldn't make too much of a big deal out of it. I'm ...

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 19-20 Sponsored by SKYO

Just spitballin' - besides Laine - would any of you consider a blockbuster deal Boeser++ for Marner? sign him to $11.65M per x 8. Leaves likely sign Boeser 8 years x $7.75M/$8M ish. I dunno. I'm not a big fan of Marner, but I gotta be honest in saying that I haven't really ever watched him play. I'...

Re: 2019/20 Predictions

Yes, mainly because of Beagle, Sutter (when healthy) and Granlund filling in as the center to take draws. The PK was good but then really cratered when Beagle was injured for those 10 games and when Bo was called upon. Jimothy Timothy Miller might be a good guy on the PK. He's kind of our new Grani...

Re: Let's get creative with Erikkson...

It seems like we're stuck with Eriksson, at least for another year. A part of me thinks we should just bite the bullet and stick Eriksson with Petey & Brockstar for most season, no matter what, for better or worse. Eriksson is still good defensively, decent in the corners and is pretty good around t...

I don’t give up on Virtanen but he’s nothing like Neely or Bertuzzi whatsoever.
I like Jake as well. I'm thinking his potential is more like Adam Deadmarsh, kind of like Jannik Hansen, but a better sniper and a way better physical game.

Re: Canucks News n Notes 2019-2020

He's a great addition for sure. Hate using that mentor word but he can certainly offer up some dos and don'ts in regards to hard work and constantly trying to better yourself. He's done it the long and hard way. That in itself is valuable. I like the Benn signing as well, short term and reasonable ...

Re: Canucks News n Notes 2019-2020

ummm.. I think you mean a solid BACKUP NHL Goaltender.. :P Well, Lack played like 40 games in each season as a Canuck, basically a 50% split, so he was like a solid 1B NHL goaltender. :D Stretcher needs to be on another team by oct 3. I like Stech and all as he's a local kid and I think he's a good...

Sure, but please don't call Eddie Lack a "former Canuck great", lol.
Yeah, I was exaggerating a bit and being sarcastic. I was a fan and liked him here. I remember he took some heat here for his play in Carolina and Calgary, but when he wore the Orca blue, he was a solid NHL goaltender. :P
