For the sake of comparison: Kovalchuk ALONE = 65 goals Kovalchuk + Todd White COMBINED = 22 goals Todd White ALONE = 15 goals TOTAL UNIQUE GOALS = 102 Also, keep in mind that Kovalchuk played with other centers during the year (Little, Holik, etc.). However, Kovalchuk also played with an elite playe...

If he didn't sign in Van, I wanted him in the East. You hate to see the competition get any stronger in the West.

Pretty tough for anyone to give someone who is virtually a total stranger advice. If it was me, I would go with #1...but obviously, I'm not you.

Good luck with whatever you choose I guess.

Totally agree with Tant on all fronts. Everyone seems to forget that moving a player means you must fill his roster spot.

A man walks into a pub in Florida and sits down at the bar. Behind the bar, he sees a big glass jar filled with $20 bills. He asks the bartender, "What's the story with the jar back there?" The bartender replies, "Well, at our bar here, we have a little challenge. It's been going on for a while. Any...

Maybe it's just nostalgia, but I can't see Naslund signing with any NHL team other than the Canucks. I think he'd be inclined to play back home if he is unhappy with the direction the Canucks take. I feel like the Canucks are in a bind here. It sounds like Naslund won't commit to playing here unless...

Even if the guy is 99% sure to be overhyped, most of his money is in incentives anyways. Wouldn't his base salary be something like $850k? Where can the Canucks hope to find a player with any remote offensive upside for less than $1M?

Farhan- Rolston badly wants to re-sign with MN, and virtually the only way that he doesn't is if they re-sign Demitra instead. There is almost no way that MN lets both of them walk. The fact that Demitra is familiar with a defensive system makes him less likely to sign in Vancouver, based on my prev...

I see your point, but I don't think he's given more "hype" than he deserves. People say he is a superstar and that he is the best offensive player on his team. I think both of those statements are clearly true. Considering the fact that he played against two very effective defensive teams in the pla...

I disagree: 2 goals (including one game winner) and 8 assists in 13 games against two of the stingiest teams in the league, leading the team with 10 pts. Lead the Sharks in goals (29, including 5 game winners) and assists (67) in the regular season. There were only two other 20-goal scorers on the ...

Demitra has been unhappy playing in the Wild's "defense-first" system since arriving in MN, so - unless AV's making some sweeping changes to his philosophy - he probably doesn't have much interest playing here either.

Also, in the final 22 games of the regular season where the Sharks went an astonishing 18-2-2 to overcome a 5 point deficit to clinch the division over the Ducks (13-4-1 over the same stretch), Thorton had 12 goals and 15 assists.

I am returning from my season-long hiatus to weigh in. For the record, I have been lurking in the shadows of the site all season, but I haven't posted in months. * Detroit in 6 games over Dallas - Turco steals two wins, but Detroit is too skilled to drop this series. * Pittsburgh in 6 games over Phi...

This list doesn't impress me much...too many picks that I disagree with. It's nice to see Luongo getting his due as the top netminder, though.
