Re: When will the Canucks Next make the playoffs

I am not as worried about injuries this year as past years.. for the first time in my memory, we have organizational depth, and this years depthnis better than Megna, Gaunce and Chaput of the last few years.. So long as Horvat and Boeser are healthy all year, we challenge for a playoff spot. Not sa...

Re: When will the Canucks Next make the playoffs

I foresee a very similar year and expect at least a couple of significant injuries to key players. My guess is somewhere between 70 to 80 points. If the injuries pile up, they could challenge for bottom of the league but otherwise I think we’ll be somewhere in that 5-10 range come draft time (well w...

Re: Canucks Young Guns

Edler was never as bad as the hyperbole vomited on this board. But he did peak and decline. But he has declined to a pretty good spot; he was quite good last year and was not bad the two years before. He has, however, carried a sizable burden, and that's where many of the warts show. But is a stron...

Re: The Sedins - a quiz, and other stuff.

I was so sure Cowan would have been on that list! Me too! I tried multiple times to no avail. I got stuck at 40. My favourite moment was missing Eriksson  Most embarrassing miss was Vanek. Choked I didn’t get Bulis. Him and Hlavac are one player to me and I kept getting stuck on Hlavac when tr...

Re: FIFA World Cup 2018

France held-off the potent Belgian attack. It will be interesting to see if Croatia have the energy and creativity to score, especially after having gone three games in a row to 120 mins. It's been quite a Spring-Summer for Lovren, Modric (CRO) and Varane (FRA): the UEFA Champions League Final and ...

Re: FIFA World Cup 2018

The moral final today; France vs Belgium. The two best teams of the tournament square off in the first semifinal. The winner tonight will almost certainly win gold. The English team is a smarter team, and more of a team, then they usually send, but despite this, I don't think they have what it take...

Re: FIFA World Cup 2018

Oh, I LOVE this world cup! Most of the arrogant powers of football either never made it in or are now out. Those floppy Brazilian floppers and Oscar nominated actors fall to Belgium 2-1. Parity is beautiful. Go Team Ikea! I know there have been some shock upsets and many people have been clamouring...

Re: FIFA World Cup 2018

I actually like Sweden's chances. I agree with you. I hadn't seen England play before the last game so it's difficult to gauge how they actually play but nothing from that game indicates to me that they should be the favourite among the 4 in their bracket to advance. They are young yes but I don't ...

Re: FIFA World Cup 2018

England through but not a very good game. We're preparing for Brexit on Saturday! :drink:  Well you better hope my prediction comes true! (I previously said England would sneak by Colombia only to lose to Sweden... mostly because English fans seemed most concerned with Colombia) I get my citiz...

Re: FIFA World Cup 2018

Am I the only one wondering where Snowy (Milou in French) is during games? https://talksport.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/5/2016/04/447sixbest4.jpg?strip=all&w=700 Setting up the winning goal  Just when I thought I'd seen the game of the tournament, there's even more drama. Tough break for Jap...

https://www.facebook.com/COPA90/videos/1750178648400602/ Great video! Missed today's game but Spain were underwhelming this tournament. Actually all 4 of the most cited favourites have looked anything but invincible. This World Cup reminds me a lot of 2002 - only difference is I hated that Wo...

Re: Vancouver's Hockey "Media"

I don’t mind the Moj, he is actually the one trying to drive the relevant sports talk while all Taylor wants to do is talk Seinfeld, celebrity news, Gene Kininski, New Westminster Salmonbellies lacrosse and all things 1970’s. Taylor needs to remove himself from sports talk, he was done when Sports ...

Re: FIFA World Cup 2018

I found Portugal lacking creativity in today’s game. Too predictable, I like open play, long balls up the wing or middle. Uruguay has arguably the best defence in the tournament and it was a matchup of two teams which play similar counter attacking styles. Maybe it's a case of lowered expectations ...
