Re: The 2018 NHL Entry Draft

. Makes me wonder if they’d be willing to trade back to 7th? If the Canucks make that trade, who would you want at #3? If Kotkaniemi gets drafted at his ranking, he could even be available at the NYI 11/12 picks. That might be a worthwhile trade for NYI to trade up for an elite winger, but I don't ...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

He is grossly overpaid at 3.15 given his last two years. Domi has played at a 48-point pace his last two years, signed for $3.15M and will be an RFA in 2020. Galchenyuck is at a 54-point pace his last two years, signed for $4.9M and will be a UFA in 2020. Neither is known for their defence, both ar...

Re: Canucks News and Notes 2017-2018

Of course Granlund will sign a one year deal. He has no leverage. I read somewhere that he would likely get 1.5 a season. Severe overpayment if so. If he wants more than 1 million a season tell him to take a hike. I would be phoning to see if you can get a 4th or 5th rounder for him. What is the th...

Trump on Iran (April 30, 2018): "“In seven years, that deal will have expired, and Iran is free to go ahead and create nuclear weapons. That’s not acceptable. Seven years is tomorrow.” Trump on nuclear armed DPRK (June 13, 2018): " Meeting with Kim Jong Un was an interesting and very positive experi...

This is why I argued against trading all the 2nds and 3rds away chasing an age gap. Another age gap has been created
Not to mention a talent gap.

Benning is a decent drafter, chances are he could turn those extra picks into a bonafide NHLer.

Well as someone who has said he collects his paycheques with a ski mask and a gun, perhaps he didn’t really earn them
... or perhaps schmucks such as yourself (no offense) don't see the value of a superior 200-foot game.
Not worth $6M per season.

I'm assuming natural grass plays into consideration as to where games are played. Cause Vancouver would draw higher ticket prices than Edmonton for sure!
Yeah I believe FIFA will only consider natural grass. But didn't Vancouver/BC NDP also eliminate themselves, not wanting to spend the $$?

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 17-18 Sponsored by SKYO

Pardon me, but if Hanafin is only the #4 guy on Carolina, why do we want him so badly? Even if he would be our #1 guy, we'd still have a shitty defense. Keep the pick and hope we draft a real top 2 D-man. If we trade for Hanafin, we will be over-paying, and pushing our re-build back farther. Maybe ...

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 17-18 Sponsored by SKYO

I said rumour built on him wanting to play in Canada. 5 team list just a rumour. The rumour would have been built by someone who rules Edmonton and Winnipeg out for all the reasons everyone states. It’s also a rumour about places he will VISIT, not sign with. So the rumour is shit, glad we all agree.

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 17-18 Sponsored by SKYO

Toronto yes, Montreal no. Weber is a declining asset, turns 33 this summer. Price is trending in the wrong direction, one of the worst prospect pools in the league, Drouin is overrated, Pacioretty wants out. The Habs are in quite an awful state not to mention it’s a Syberian winter off the St Lawre...

For starters, you missed the entire point of my post. Secondly, of the list of cities I posted, Vancouver is fat and away the best in terms of climate and geographic locale. Every market in Canada is going to have a crappy work-life balance for a guy like him.....which goes back to the original poi...

Ah who is EK? Eklund. Yeah, insert Toronto, Montreal, or Vancouver into any/every "rumour" = clicks = Ad $. Since we can't even speak to him until the end of the month, I'm not sure why we would be on his "visit list" at this point. A 5 team visit list.....you definitely make a good point about why...
