Re: Elephant in the Room - Trade the Sedins

I’m not sure I like the idea of Sutter, Eriksson and Del Zotto being the go-to mentors starting next fall. Another year under the Sedins would go a long way for Horvat and Boeser, IMO. On the flip side, we might be a point now where the twins are holding the kids back. As soon as next season? I dou...

Re: Canucks News and Notes 2017-2018

Not as bad as I thought it would be (I thought he’d get between 4.5-5). It’s more than he’s worth, but less than what the market would give him. Gudbranson wasn’t going to recoup what we gave up for him. And given the choice to re-sign him, or trade him for a 2nd, I’m fine with keeping him. He plays...

I'm not saying he sucks at faceoffs. Just that the words "great" and "exceptional" are somewhat overstating things. I mean, there are wingers in that list who have done better. http://gif-finder.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/Leonardo-DiCaprio-Clap.gif Nuckles is just a sad angry little man due to ...

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 17-18 Sponsored by SKYO

He's an average NHL player who is paid like a second liner, on a very long term contract that he hasn't played up to at all. Aside from Eriksson and perhaps the upcoming Guddy contract his is the worst on the team. Money isn't a big deal to this team right now given how terrible they are, but if th...

Re: Elephant in the Room - Trade the Sedins

If two of Dalhen, Pettersson, Gaudette, Gadjovich and/or Lind are able to make the team, that helps but that's a pretty big if to take into next season. Obviously Dowd and Archibald aren't a big deal, but replacing three of the top point getters on the team is going to take some doing. Yeah this is...

So the Oil is now trying to out-tank everybody to get yet another shot at the first overall. Loses 1-0 to the worse team in the league.

We need better odds. Call up Megna & Chaput.
Just gotta be in the conversation. Aim for bottom-5.

Re: The Bubbles and Dud review every GM move thread

I'd say Treliving looks a lot better than he is because of two things - a 4th-round pick turning into an all-star, and 6-overall turning into a first line forward as a teenager. Without either of those things happening, I don't think the Flames would even be sniffing at the playoffs this year. Mike...

Re: From Bountiful to Ponoka

Take a snippet of ones career (last 3 seasons) and compare "Point Totals Per 82 Game Season" to another. Whats note noted over these last 3 season comparibles - one player - Backlund - played 221 games, the other payer - Sutter - played 138 games. Agenda So not only is Backlund the more talented ho...

Re: From Bountiful to Ponoka

Bonino - 8 goals 9 assists but that's OK, Nashville is paying for Bonino's cup ring from Pittsburgh So he's still putting up similar numbers to Sutter (Bonino .37ppg, Sutter .35ppg) while being less expensive? You're not helping your case here. The Penguins got rid of Sutter because they (wisely) d...

Re: From Bountiful to Ponoka

Oh I forgot did I say I liked the Bonino contract ? Feel free to produce any evidence But, but, but the Penguins cleaned Bennings clock on the Sutter trade! Lockwood says hi. Bonino says hi from the 4th line on a $4 million per 4 year contract The Penguins (and Bonino) won two cups. In the 2016 pla...

Re: From Bountiful to Ponoka

Lol those prime 30 point seasons with his 30 hits and mentoring young players to play with grit and balls like his dad and uncles did. For the record Bubbles likes 29 year old Backlund at $5.35 million for 6 years after this season and hates 29 year old Sutter for a $1 million less for 3 years afte...

A bit more and he’s three years younger and plays with a bit of an edge. Played with Bo in junior and has averaged close to 50 Points over 82 while Svennis closer to 40. With Hutton I don’t see much more than a bottom pairing d man who can skate. Yeah I think Domi is the more talented player for su...
