Re: OOTS 2018-2019

A hat trick for Debrincat last night. We could have picked him in 2016. Gillis could have picked Rackell instead of Jensen. He could have picked Tatar, Barrie or Orlov instead of Rödin. He could have picked Derek Stepan instead of Yan Sauve, could have picked Erik Karlsson instead of Hodgson....

Re: Closing out the season (2018/19)

If they have a chance to be there they should try to be there. But that doesn’t mean they should be buyers at the deadline or shy away from moving someone if a buyer is willing to pay a premium (Tanev go TO?). Organizationally, they’re probably better off missing this year and having a shot at a lot...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

Just read that Duchene's camp turned down an offer of $8M x 8 years. The guy has clocked 70 points just once in his career, and at 28 years of age is finally producing above a 1ppg pace for the first time. Does he think he's worth $10M? He won’t be able to pull that kind of money elsewhere (max ter...

Somewhat "recently", I was threatening to throw hospital attendants, (male, female or whatevers) around regardless of the pain.
They sedated me! Can you believe that shit?
You’re lucky Nurse Ratched didn’t have you lobotomized.

Re: LOL

So for all intents and purposes, twas Bones straight up for Sutts Even if that was the trade (it wasn’t), we had to sign Sutter immidiately after acquiring him (to a poor contract). Why not just trade Bonino at the TDD for younger assets/picks? He was a productive 2C on a sweetheart deal. Given Ben...

the rebuild that they were attempting, one that tries to remain competitive and has roster players who are vets that can help show kids what it takes to play in the NHL and are still of an age that they might be useful pieces when the team is winning again. And this, this "re-tool on the fly" conce...

Clearing out the garbage isn't always pretty, but the garbage had to go.
Many of those early moves can be classified as “garbage out, garbage in”. The rebuild on the fly didn’t work.

I wouldn’t even do Goldobin straight up for Puljujarvi
 k
Let me save you many years of a painful, agonizing wait for this Puljujarvi that you envision to arrive but won’t - close the book, the story is over
Maybe, but we know what Goldobin is. Easily worth the risk, IMO.

What endears you to Jesse “the Finnish Hillbilly” Puljujarvi?

What exactly are you seeing in him that the rest of the world isn’t?
Potential.

Re: Canuck News and Notes - 2018-2019

Canucks acquire Ryan Spooner from EDM for Sam Gagne JIm Benning is great at drafting !! Right now, I'd like to see a little less moving pricey scrubs around and something that would help the team long term. Nobody is giving up a draft pick for Sam Gagner. It's one overpriced veteran for another ove...

Fairly equal cap hits (Canucks save $50K).

Low Risk move, and probably gets Jimbo some credit for getting Gagner back to the show (he may dress tonight for Edmonton).

Re: US Erection 12 *AND* 16

Republicans should be very careful here. A future Democratic president could proclaim firearm violence and climate change as national emergencies. Bit of a difference between building a wall and depriving people of their weapons, don't ya think? One sparks legal challenges, the other sparks bloody ...
