Re: Canucks Young Guns

I hope they take a look at MacEwan at some point this season. Big kid, seems to be a late bloomer. He moves pretty well for a big guy and has an edge. If macewen was on the Canucks he’d be one of the faster players, he can skate. He’s the most pro ready by far, and plays with skill, I think he may ...

Re: The Brexit disaster

Maybe it's a generational thing, but I have no clue why anyone cares for the verbose opinions of such a pompous ex-Canadian (and convicted felon).

I guess when you started the paper they'll save you space in the Op-Eds.

Re: What to do with Alex Edler ?

The answer seems obvious: Re-sign Edler to a 2-year extension @ $5.5M per with a modified NTC. He won't require protection in the expansion draft, and we revisit the situation in 2021. This would be fine. The ideal situation is letting him chase a cup with Tampa or Toronto, getting the Canucks a pi...

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 18-19 Sponsored by SKYO

I'm staying far far away from Karlsson Meds. He would look wicked now for us but 10-12 mill a year might change that...especially if his numbers start waning I could see New York calling. The Rangers have about $20M in cap space this summer. If he does want to stay in the West, Dallas is as attract...

Re: Canuck News and Notes - 2018-2019

If I were the Canucks, I would announce a “setback” in Pettersson’s recovery and make him unavailable for the all star weekend. Give the kid a break, and send a veiled message to the league to do a better job protecting the club’s stars before we see another Naslund or Daniel Sedin incident. The al...

Re: Canuck News and Notes - 2018-2019

Maybe we should rest him until next season? The Slack-for-Jack in me would be fine with this approach. If he's good to go, he's good to go. No bruising, no swelling, no limp, and MRI says minor. Which is great (and lucky). I'm sure the Canucks are being very cautious with the kid, so it's unl...

Re: GDT Jan 5 canucks vs leaves that fall cbc

At the end of the day, I like Bo, very happy he is our 2nd line centre, but recently we have witnessed Bo's offensive ceiling and what we should expect from him. I see him as your classic 60 point top 6 forward, in that 25 goals, 35 assists range, nothing wrong with that, like a Sam Reinhart or RNH...

Re: GDT Jan 5 canucks vs leaves that fall cbc

Has Bo's play been knocking you out over the last 15 games during the Pettersson show? No, it hasn't, so put down your rose coloured glasses my friend. We all love Bo, I get it, like we all loved Trevl Linden, I love Bo but like Trevl we are overrating him. Your mistake is comparing anyone on the t...

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 18-19 Sponsored by SKYO

If there are offers out there for either Sutter or Beagle at the trade deadline for an extremely speedy left winger prospect that can play some defense, too, I’d probably make the move to trade one of them and then go with Gaudette and Gaunce as the 4th and 5th centres. I’d resign Edler for a coupl...

Re: GDT Jan 5 canucks vs leaves that fall cbc

I said Horvat is either a "very good" 3rd line centre or an adequate 2nd line centre. He isn't what I call a high end 2nd line centre. Sutter isn't too far behind what Horvat brings to the table. I consider Sutter "a good" 3rd line centre. There is a massive drop from Pettersson to Horvat regarding...

Re: GDT Jan 5 canucks vs leaves that fall cbc

Two games without Petey, no goals. Nuff said, this is Elias’ team. At this point not sure what we have in Bo, is he a legitimate top 6 centre or a very good 3rd line centre. He doesn’t have s lot of dimensions to his game, wish he’d play s more classic controlled centre when in the O zone but with ...

Re: Canuck News and Notes - 2018-2019

I doubt Pete misses more than 2 games. If it were playoffs, he'd have a tensor wrap on it and be fine. we have what, six games then the All Star break. id rest him for at least 4 or those, maybe five, then let him go to the All Star game. but it is a light Jan so he may not even miss one game. Well...

Pass. The team is starting to forge a new identity behind Petterson, Boeser and Horvat. The Sedins had a good run, time for the next generation.

Re: Canuck News and Notes - 2018-2019

The Nilsson trade is a bit risky if we're hoping for a playoff spot. If Demko is not ready or not good enuff, McKenna is no better than Bachman and Marky Mark starts playing like the guy that we know or gets injured, we could have a serious problem between the pipes. I guess JB can always trade for...
