Re: The 2018 NHL Entry Draft

The Habs are an interesting watch. Their centre position is quite putrid especially after trading sometimes centre - Galchenyuk. That leaves them with sometime centre - Drouin whom isn’t truly a natural centre since he’s played mostly on the wing. The other centre is Danault. I don’t think you can f...

Re: The 2018 NHL Entry Draft

As long as Elmer doesn’t trade any picks or any of Brock, Bo or Elias I am all good. I’d like to see him make a play for a good young d man, doesnt matter which side he plays. Just not sure he has the pieces to land anyone significant. Barring that I’m all for moving all of Hutton, Granlund and Bae...

Re: The 2018 NHL Entry Draft

Bouchard is in that Garrison/Aucoin/Griffin Reinhart category of defencemen. He will struggle with the pace of the NHL with his slow motor, average skating and average edge work Will struggle transitioning the puck out at speed with the fast NHL dump and chase forecheck. People need to also consider...

Re: The 2018 NHL Entry Draft

Craig Button says..... Moving along, nothing to see here. Well, we're citing Eklund in the trade rumor thread, might as well cite Button in the draft thread! :drink: Button is whoring himself for a paycheque, I actually believe he is no better than your average fan when it comes to scouting, like a...

Re: The 2018 NHL Entry Draft

Islanders scout Trent Klatt said it best when it comes to drafting - “you are looking for prospects whom you think will still be playing in the NHL when they are 25”

Re: The 2018 NHL Entry Draft

Here’s the best part: “It's about finding that next group of core players we can win with in the next six, eight, 10 years. “ Say it ain’t so Doc, say it ain’t so!! When it comes to Benning Speak you have to learn to read through all the Jambalaya. How I translate this - a core group of players tha...

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 17-18 Sponsored by SKYO

Toronto yes, Montreal no. Weber is a declining asset, turns 33 this summer. Price is trending in the wrong direction, one of the worst prospect pools in the league, Drouin is overrated, Pacioretty wants out. The Habs are in quite an awful state not to mention it’s a Syberian winter off the St Lawre...

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 17-18 Sponsored by SKYO

Ah who is EK? Eklund. Yeah, insert Toronto, Montreal, or Vancouver into any/every "rumour" = clicks = Ad $. Since we can't even speak to him until the end of the month, I'm not sure why we would be on his "visit list" at this point. A 5 team visit list.....you definitely make a good point about why...

Re: The 2018 NHL Entry Draft

Could see 5 Canadians go top 10 and 10 go top 20 Newhook Dach Cozens Krebs Byram Robertson Poulin Lavoie Suzuki Willams Mutala and Rizzo - could crack first round to. Let me try to get this back on track after this thread was rudely interrupted with another pointless post from Raffles. Adam Foote h...
