Nobody knows what the offers were. Where did you hear this offer? The Cobalt?

He’s a top 10 player in the NHL at 28. If he will agree to an extension the return could be huge.

What if Gillis had drafted Karlsson instead of Stumpy Legs?

Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver

You make room for a top player in the game. Karlssons future salary wouldn’t be an issue for a decent GM to figure out. Then again good GMs don’t have payrolls riddled with garbage pulling in 3-6 million per on long term deals Were there not just 3 Karlsson tire kickers in Dallas, Vegas and Tampa? ...

Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver

The best offer tabled for Karlsson was by Tampa - a stay at home, average skating D-man - Foote, a first pick ( which would have been somewhere between 28th and 31st and a 2nd round pick which would have been somewhere around 60th. How exactly is that a good haul for a Norris Trophy D-man? It has n...

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 18-19 Sponsored by SKYO

That’s what smart GMs do when rebuilding. More lottery tickets= more chances to draft a good player. Point is nobody drafted two seasons earlier was likely going to make much of an impact on a cup run. All players easily squeezed on to a payroll in a cap system, the same can’t be said about a Norri...

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 18-19 Sponsored by SKYO

Bo, Gaunce and Hutton are the only players left that were drafted by the last regime. If you include the entire league, Connauton and Schroeder round out the abysmal era that was Gillis & co. 37 draft picks over six entry drafts and only one single legitimate player. Absolutely appalling. Y...

Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver

Prediciting the lottery teams for the 2019 draft is a little difficult. I would say that - the Ottawa first owned by Colorado is a guaranteed top 3 pick - Arizona will be their usual tank team self this year - Detroit most likley top 5 lottery - I see improvement from the Sabres but they will be a l...

Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver

Although they won’t get top dollar return I agree with Blob they could get 3 1sts and three top prospects at a minimum for those three. Problem is that teams trading for any of those three won’t be teams with lottery picks. Allegedly Tampa offered a 1st, a 2nd, Foote plus a roster player for Karlss...

is anyone going to the Young Guns tourney in Pentiction? (sure be nice to have a first hand account of our prospects) …. and also does anyone know where they are live streaming the games?? Blob will be playing a mixed, slow pitch tourney up there around the same time. They call Blob the white man C...

Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver

Both Duschene and Karlsson are in their final year of their contracts and become UFA’s next summer. They won’t get value for those two pending UFA players on the trade market, Ottawa has already realized that by trying to trade Karlsson recently. Those two are not resigning in Ottawa. They will get ...

Re: US Erection 12 *AND* 16

The Donald has had a difficult time for years getting financing for his business ventures on his own soil - American banks/lenders, due to his reputation of intentionally bankrupting/tanking his own companies, then buying them back cheap. The dude is dirty. Word is his financial backing has been com...

Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver

Ottawa has three very good young prospects in Brown, Batherson and Chlapik not to mention an excellent young D man in Chabot. Thing is why the hell would they deal away Tkachuk who is now close to signing and not returning to college? They seem pretty high on the kid. You forgot Colin White and Ale...

Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver

As part of kicking off next year’s ticket drive I have heard that the Canucks want to have some sort of draft weekend part(ies). I imagine that will include having at least one 1st round pick. I can’t see Benning going into a home draft by trading his 1st. I’m with Blob, and many others, I’d love t...
