Re: The 2018 NHL Entry Draft

I think one of Boqvist or Tkachuk will be there at seven. I won’t be surprised if Dobson is gone before the Canucks pick. He is probably moving up with the memorial cup exposure. There is more risk and reward with Boqvist so that’d be my choice of the three. If he becomes an elite dynamic power pla...

Re: The 2018 NHL Entry Draft

The memorial cup has opened the world up to Dobson. I’d be shocked if he is still available at 7. He’s going ahead of Bouchard and Boqvist IMO, tough call on him passing Hughes and Tkachuk. Bummer I really wanted Dobson

Re: WC 2018

What has happened to Canada’s goaltending. All the other teams goalies put up brick walls against us but ours were sieves?

Horvat is a beaut. Barzal is impressive. I was wrong about him. Thought he was going to be the next Zach Hamil

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 17-18 Sponsored by SKYO

Well Richard, Blob has let it be known that he fluctuates between 220 lbs and 240 lbs. No big deal but when you factor in that he tells us he’s 5’-10-1/2”s you kind of imagine Chris Farley. Remember, Blob plays Ball (slow pitch). You’ve seen the bellies on those guys haven’t you? Take a spin down to...

Re: The 2018 NHL Entry Draft

Picking a RHD would allow us to consider moving Tanev, perhaps not this year but next, or at the TDD if we fall out of it again. I’m assuming that that pick likely won’t be too impactful, if at all, for the Canucks this upcoming season. Picking a LW shores up a need in our top six. To me though pic...

Re: The 2018 NHL Entry Draft

I wonder if it was a mistake to put Brady in the NCAA. Not suited for his style of game. Should have gone the CHL route IMO. I wonder if Keith pushed him to go to Boston cause of Keiths roots?

No way Brady plays 3 more seasons of College Hockey

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 17-18 Sponsored by SKYO

No must not take note of the wonderful situation, the surroundings, the cushioning, The mentorship, the environment, the elite team that Sergachev is on. Let’s reserve judgement for when Juolevi has arrived to the NHL and been given the time and opportunity to prove his wears. Really surprised how a...

Bub has been writing off Juolevi since the day he was drafted. This affliction is typically defined as Displaced Aggression, ie - “we didn’t draft Tkachuk???!!! Juolevi is the scum of the earth!!!!”

Re: The 2018 NHL Entry Draft

Dahlin, Svechnikov, Tkachuk, Zadina and Hughes are guaranteed gonzo by the time we are picking the 7th pick. Who is that last prospect who will go top 6 who won’t be available to us? IMO it’s beteeen Bouchard, Wahlstrom and Boqvist who go top 6. I’m going with Bouchard. The Canucks will be deciding,...

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 17-18 Sponsored by SKYO

If you really want a 5 year rebuild, then look for a MEGA defenseman trade to happen by the 2019 trade deadline or July 1st, 2019 UFA signing. I can be flexible, relaxed --mellow, even -- about how long the rebuild going to take, but what I really want is for the architect of the rebuild, or one of...

Re: The 2018 NHL Entry Draft

Just be happy you are not the tanking Coyotes seeing how the Rangers landed the excellent prospect - Lias Andersson with their 2017 8th overall pick for Stepan who turns 28 next month and his 14 goals he got them. Or you wasted your 3rd overall pick on Dylan Strome

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 17-18 Sponsored by SKYO

I know Island Nucklehead is a massive Klefbom fan but seriously if they are having to offer up the 10th ALONG with Klefbom to land Ristolainen who has some flaws himslelf says a lot about Klefbom's fall from grace. What about Tanev for the Oilers 10th? The Canes are in a good spot to rebuild from wi...

Re: The 2018 NHL Entry Draft

People get too caught up with CHL stats. 12th overall pick Ryan Murphy put up similar numbers to Bouchard and he isnt having a stellar NHL career Bouchard is a very uneventful player. Look at his highlight reel packages, scores a lot of soft wrister goals that he won’t be able to get away against NH...

Re: The 2018 NHL Entry Draft

I can’t say I’d be disappointed with Bouchard. I just think the London Knight connection - Horvat and Juolevi will be the deciding factor for Benning. Who I want? The Canucks lack an element of super skilled and fast puck carriers on the team and Hughes regardless of his size hits all the marks but ...
