Re: 2018-2019 Playoffs - Round 1

Last year made me sick anyways. This "Newbie Franchise" Instant success shit at the cost of other franchises, Seattle needs to finish last or close to last for a couple of years and build through the draft, nut no, I'm sure they'll be a platoff team right away too, huh? Bitter? Me? Na. with ...

Re: The Official CC "All Thing Leaves" thread

$10.2 MILLION william - 7 playoff games - 1 goal 2 assists

Apparently the Leaves are massive on analytics. How’s that working out for them.

Lawrence Gilman? What’s his role with the Leaves?

Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver

The U-18 tourney is somewhat misleading as there is very little in the way of hard ass hockey. You can pick out supreme natural skills, for sure but it's very free wheeling. The Memorial playoffs is great but that's only a fraction of the elliiables. Damn frakin hard this drafting thing. Di...

Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver

Also, kinda crazy that 4 of the top-10 and 1/3 of the first round might be coming from the same team... The Americans should enjoy this draft cause the 2020 draft class is a dreadful class for them. May only be one American (Sanderson) who could go top 20 in 2020. It’s a very strong class for Canad...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

Ehlers (aka my favourite player like Tom Sestito ) has struggled all year. That said, much like Nylander he still has positive value and won’t be difficult to move if Cheveldayoff wanted to shake things up. With the exception of Draisaitl the 2014 Draft Class Top 10 selections has to be one o...

Re: 2019 offseason

Benning hasn't done as badly in FA as some paint. Schaller, bad but one year left. Ericksson terrible. Gagne, gone but we have to deal with Spooner now. Burmistrov, gone, cost us next to nothing. Stanton, gone. I like Beagle, Roussel. Vrbata was not bad, Miller was great, Vannick was good. Nilsson ...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

So the reason Laine wasn't dominating the NHL this year & only scored 30 goals was due to a back injury. Patrik Laine played with a back injury for most of the season and a groin injury hindered him during the Stanley Cup Playoffs, the Winnipeg Jets forward said Monday. Sounds like fortnite injurie...

What’s the deal with the Hurricanes first round picks - Jake Bean, Hayden Fleury, Julien Gauthier and Nicolas Roy? CHL bums or what?

Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver

I just read through all the bios of all these kids. My money is on Benning taking Soderstrom. He sounds like one who might take a post draft leap in his development. Could be a golden boy Soderstrom doing well in the SEL all year might make him the most ready for the NHL of all the top prospects, m...

Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver

Not from what I’ve seen of these playoffs- size and speed and a quick mobile defence. The more I see of Newhook I like. He’s definitely raised his stock playing with his draft peers. I’d say he’s put an end to scouts being concerned with him being a BCHL’er NO to Podkozlin Agreed. Even though every...

Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver

If our current young core was on the big side I’d consider Caulfield but half of that core is Hughes and Petterson, so no way. Not from what I’ve seen of these playoffs- size and speed and a quick mobile defence. Also Caufield is not a great skater, not bad, but not great. The more I see of Newhook ...

Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver

I believe Boldy is going well before 10. Buyer beware regarding Caulfield - a boom bust prospect, can’t afford a bust. Zegras could be available but I’m not sure about Zegras. I really like Krebs. Yup, I think the Canucks will get one of Zegras, Boldy or Krebs - Podkolzin we'd be really truly lucky...
