Well, they've lost Laine, Puljiarvi, Aho, Rantanen and Kapanen to name a few. That's a big hit. A small country like that just ain't got the depth as per say the Canadians and Americans.

Re: The Rebuild...

Canucks 8 points ahead of the last placed, decade long, full tank rebuild, otherwise known as the Colorado Avalanche. A win tomorrow will put us ahead of the Jets and tied with the Stars and only a couple points out of the final wild card position. This team loves to play for Wilbrod and Jimbo Benning!

Re: The Rebuild...

Trying to stop the GIllis Scuttled TItanic from sinking to the depths of the NHL standings is an easy task? An aging past their prime core with big NTC contracts, a big black void in middle aged players and a complete shite prospect pool thanks to Gillis amazing drafting skills. A very easy and desp...

Exactly, but it ain't no envious position to be in when you have a gun pointed to your head, "save this sinking ship that Gillis scuttled, Jimbo"

...we'll probably have CBJ's 2nd next draft as well. Maybe we can trade it for a fading asset about to hit waivers... :mex: Well duh gotta fill the age gap. Otherwise known as the Mike Gillis Void I know right. Pedan, Granlund, Vey, Sutter, Sbisa and Baertschi have been amazing additions W...

Re: The Rebuild...

There is no magic hockey trade waiting to be made that will instantly turn this around. This is NOT what Trader Skyo wants to hear! :D I don't think anyone feels there is an instant fix. I do believe the current team isn't good enough and there isn't enough talent in the system. What condition was ...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

When the Sedins contract ends so does Tavares? Should the Nucks be a player in the Tavares sweepstakes? it's quite obvious to Tavares that the Islanders are permanently awful organization, why would he go back? The retool on the fly will be done in Vancouver by the time Tavares is a free man!

Re: The Rebuild...

Haven't totally given up on the idea of acquiring Jonathan Drouin. Possible but tricky. Really would depend on where Tampa is at in February and if they were all in for a push for the cup. It would probably take Tanev. and of course we would have to sign him in the summer. Still too soon to know if...

Re: The Rebuild...

Im trading Hutton, long before I'm trading Tanev. I'm just not sold on Hutton, it's concerning to see his play digress this season. He is either resting on his laurels of last season "I'm too good to try now" or he just isn't as good as we had originally thought. Either way if there is a D-man I'm ...

Re: The Rebuild...

Torts wanted a rebuild but the fans and local media were not ready. Hell, the owners weren't ready and most assuredly, MG wasn't ready. Kesler didn't want to go through it and I now believe the Sedins were just trying to prove him wrong. What if, man, what if? the Sedin curse. They are old and done...

Re: The Rebuild...

Remember the great Gillis trade - two 4th round picks for the great shutdown hockey centre - Sami Pahlsson? One of those 4th round picks the CBJ's drafted Josh Anderson? He has 8 goals and 3' assists with the CBJ's. Lovely
