Re: Canucks Young Guns

Thanks, Corn, SKYO and Per. Interesting tidbits on the up-and-comers. Petterson and Dahlén sound pretty confident and there is definitely a lot of hope tied up in those two succeeding. Matching the Sedins might be a little premature to expect, but good to see them with a bit of swagger. Would have b...

Re: Canucks Young Guns

Get a room, you two.... This thread still has some life it.... Couldn't agree more. For the love of the hockey gods, can't we have just one thread that doesn't devolve into a flame war? Is Dahlen really only a lipstick or a goalgoblin? Wouldnt he be much higher up the totem? I've been under the imp...

Re: Canucks Young Guns

In: Petersson, Gaudette, Goldobin, Hughes One of these things is not like the others: elite, elite, crap, elite. Just because Botchford sings Goldobin’s praises at every opportunity doesn’t mean he is no longer a bubble player at best. The guy is carried by Virtanen in garbage games at the end of l...

Re: Canucks Young Guns

Saw on twitter that Boeser popped a Hattie in first game of Da Beauty League today. Indicates good things regarding his back injury. http://www.sportingnews.com/ca/nhl/news/video-watch-brock-boeser-vancouver-canucks-da-beauty-league-hat-trick-team-bic-highlights/1xwq419qva99v1sh7xf13037kg Thanks, B...

Re: Free Agency 2018 & Everything Related

And we're now X=0, correct ? Playoffs in 2019, and looking good doing it ? Playoffs in 2019 or 2020, try to keep up. (I mean, the guy's been saying it for 3 years now...) RG is up. We are now in 0-1 territory which means it should have happened or will happen in the upcoming year in accordance with...

Re: The Rebuild...

I think the AHL is best for when you are close to ready but not quite there yet. NCAA is great for working out and practicing a lot as they don't play as much games vs the pros, so they train hard all year as I think they only play like 40-42 games a season? vs AHL - 80?games NHL 82. Considering hi...

Re: If you could move just one

L.E. No question. I am perhaps naively still hoping that Gagner will pull up his bootstraps. Would definitely be two thirds of a smurf line but I wonder if he might mesh with Pettersson. Couldn't be worse than putting him with Sutter who seems to be able to singlehandedly extinguish any spark of cre...

Re: The Rebuild...

Word is that Hughes and his agent want to see a clear path to him being in the top six or he will return to Michigan. Not out there as a threat but simply they don’t see the benefit of Utica at this point in time over a developmental year in Michigan. His preference is to sign and play in the NHL b...

Re: Free Agency 2018 & Everything Related

Again Doc. How many positions did they give up in that swap of picks? Why bother rehashing this again and again? Because people (yourself included) keep repeating the myth that a pick was "pissed away" in the Sutter trade. So rather than a pick, would you say that a "young developing player" was pi...

Re: The Rebuild...

Lol not even close Wrong. I tend to think that given JB's potential drafting success, Blob is correct. Pretty sure JB could have drafted players much better than the reclamation players he acquired. But perhaps you are correct, perhaps JB's drafting isn't nearly as good as we think it is and perhap...
