We won! The ship has been righted!
Let's sign Green to an extension and Benning too!

Re: Coaching Change? Yay or Nay.
Yes. Same with Benning (he should have been gone a long time ago). How Acquilini can stick with Benning this long is just beyond me. "Jim has a plan" supposedly. What a friggin mess... A handful of bounces their way over these 9 games and theyre rocking a 6-3 record and nobody is criticizing anythi...

Re: Canucks News N Notes 2020-2021
There was an article floating around talking about Quinn being the best dman in the Canadian conference, what a bunch of the dummies in media don’t realize yet is we got the second best dman as well in Nate schmidt. He’s gonna be a massive eye opener for people in Vancouver, and Canadian media in g...

Re: Canucks News N Notes 2020-2021
Anything with the constipated whale is a disappointment. These are meh. Not terrible but not worth spending money on. If they had some balls, they would have done the 80s giant Vs for reverse retro in blue, green and black. Best jersey in the last year is still the stick and rink, closely followed ...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)
No this is old news. With the lack of revenue the new CBA agreement has a 20% escrow this season (down to 6% in later years). On top of that there is a 10% additional hold back this season that the players could get back in later years if the revenue improves enough, but it probably won’t so practi...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)
It looks like with the condo market being not so good and everything Mr Aquilini has squashed buyouts this season so Cool Hand Jim wasn't able to clear the space he needed to carry out this off season's plan. Yeahn, buyouts are no good because the cap-hits would carry over to the next season(s). Pe...

Re: Canucks News N Notes 2020-2021
Good pickup by Benning. Wish Schmidt was 27 instead of 29 considering his contract and age of the core, but the acquisition cost is pretty sweet. Like UWS pointed out, I don't think Benning wanted to be hemmed-in by term and NMCs - which is what Markstrom and Tanev wanted in the end. With that, and...

First impression....Great signing!
Demko is the future and Holtby here to help with the transition.
Good god what a relief...a smart contract.

Re: Canucks News N Notes 2020-2021
What's going on with OEL? Haven't read/ heard anything since the morning. And HW is staying mum on it. Either she doesn’t know or she knows to stay quiet about details until after the fact.....in which case it’s very very close. Yeah, the 'tweet' said this: "The teams are believed to be grinding ov...

Keep in mind Virtanen and Louis out is 9 million for the next two years. Virtanen will be hard enough to trade..... think Kassian. Louis is a nightmare. You are going to have to attach Demko or Ratbones/Gaudette + a 2nd to move that lazy cunt. Virtanen has size, speed and 18 goals this year. There ...

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 19-20 Sponsored by SKYO
So whats the word on Markstrom? Anyone else getting the sense that the team may be preparing to let him price himself out of town? It would surely be one way to relieve the cap pressure while retaining TT and CT. Hell they can likely retain Jake and add a piece if they let marky walk. Whats the loc...

Re: The Great Jim Benning Debate! (And personal insult thread)
Benning gets a passing grade on his draft record. On asset management and contract negotiations he gets a fail from me. Too many draft picks traded away, too many expensive fringe players. For the canucks to get to "contender" status we need Benning to excel now at asset management. He will need ski...

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 19-20 Sponsored by SKYO
Although the organization is deep in wingers, I wonder what the cost would be to get Lawson Crouse out of Arizona. Plays hard, big kid, good skater who can PK and plays with plenty of snarl. At 23 years old he might be ready to break out. Probably more than he’s worth, but I agree he’s a good targe...

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 19-20 Sponsored by SKYO
You sign them as early as you can, right after the playoffs end. Don’t wait until next summer. There are a number of RFA years still and they haven’t lead the lead in any category yet, so you try for 8m x 8 and hopefully end up no higher than 9m x 8. These two Calder winners should end up with pret...
