Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver

To be fair, Broberg might be ranked higher on some lists due to his size and higher offensive ceiling.

That's why drafts are a crapshoot.

Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver

I've been watching a lot of the highlights between Broberg and Soderstrom and I have to say, I like Soderstrom's overall game better. I think it's way ahead and more complete than Broberg's at this point. While Broberg looks more dynamic, carrying the puck on the rush, his skating looks awkward lik...

Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver

I know, right?

Page 100 of this thread is an example of good hockey discussion. It makes you excited for the upcoming draft.

There's just been way too much nonsense around here for the last oh, say... 4 years?

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

EK with a brutal giveaway and screen that lead to a Blues goal. I wonder if someone started yelling at him on the bench?

He's on for as many goals for as against.

Not that he would consider Van, but I say no to either EK or PK.

Re: LOL

Interesting bits from Burkie about Pavel and Gillis, among other topics: https://www.sportsnet.ca/650/sportsnets-starting-lineup/brian-burke-video-review-canucks-president-situation-pavel-bures-departure/ Bure sounds more and more like a bigger weasel by the day. He essentially wanted out of Van alm...

Goldy and Fin for Lindsey Vonn.

They can keep country music and PK.

Re: 2018-2019 Playoffs. Round three

I'm surprised Dundon isn't demanding his players entertain the fans one final time by pretending to stick a fork in themselves. Bunch of front-running jerks. I feel bad for Ron Francis who worked diligently for years to build this team only to be dismissed by a know-it-all owner and his puppet GM. I...

Awful non-call on the hand pass in OT. Why can't league offices intervene? Everyone can see the replay.

Re: The Official CC "All Thing Leaves" thread

LOL at Looney Toonah telling us Dumbass would be able to keep the band together foreva when we all told him they were going to have cap issues real quick. Dumbass before Willy Nilly signing: "I'm not worried about the cap. We're going to keep all our guys". Dumbass after Willy Nilly signing: "Gulp"....

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

Must be a smart fellow... if he could become the chairman of Southhampton in the Premier League with a completely unrelated sports background, then come back to coach hockey after a 5-year absence from the sport.

I hope he turns those Sabres around.

Tragically Hip for Kesler

Surgery. Will miss the entire season. Maybe the end of his career.

Re: How to fix the Canucks defense?

Dahlen and his agent decided on this gambit and lost. Simple as that. If they had taken another, less confrontational approach, who knows? They might have gotten their wish next season. And guess what? Players get yelled at lots in the NHL. Better get used to it. As DickStroker said, the analytics a...

Re: Canuck News and Notes - 2018-2019

According to this article from 2016, most GMs tend to overpay for bottom 6 players. https://hockey-graphs.com/2016/06/03/how-much-is-the-best-fourth-line-in-hockey-worth/ At the time of this writing, NYI's 4th line was making almost $10million. To be fair though, Casey Cizikis has been scoring on av...
