Re: Who's next?

I'm quoting my own quote...but i was wrong...Detroit finished 2nd...we play Detroit or Calgary/Chicago I hate to correct your correction, but: o we play Detroit if San Jose and Detroit both win; o Calgary or Chicago if San Jose loses and Detroit wins (or San Jose wins and Detroit loses); or o Anahe...

Re: Who's next?

Does anyone know exactly how the playoff bracket works? Just like the end of the regular season. Of the 4 teams remaining, 1 will play 4, 2 will play 3 (based on reg season points). We play San Jose or the winner of Calgary/Chicago I'm quoting my own quote...but i was wrong...Detroit finished 2nd.....

Re: Who's next?

Toughest series to win? Detroit. Yes, and apparently Osgood is playing well (or the BJs are making him look good). He has two first stars and a second star, a 0.66 GAA, and a 0.974 save percentage. I really hope we don't face Detroit in the second round. Let them get beat up by Anaheim in the secon...

Re: Who's next?

Does anyone know exactly how the playoff bracket works? Like, if Detroit sweeps Columbus, are they guaranteed to be the Canucks 2nd-round opponent? Or does it depend on who wins the other two series as well? Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I can't find the answer elsewhere, and this seems to ...

Re: I hate the Canucks! I love the Canucks!

Well it's not THIS team, it's the team that will be left over next year and decline after that. However, I just think this team isn't good enough to make any kind of impact, and would rather go after true impact prospects instead of wasting five years on this team. Yes, they will have to be able to...

Re: I hate the Canucks! I love the Canucks!

To make a splash in this league, you have to either finish near the top or near the bottom. Finishing in the middle is a recipe to stay there forever. Which is what the Canucks have done...forever. The time is now for Gillis to do a major rebuild. The Sedins should not be re-signed for more than 5 m...

Salary Cap Question

Not sure if this has been asked on here and quite frankly I'm way too lazy to look. My question is, in light of our recent injury issues, does some of the injured player's salary get added back to our cap space. I seem to vaguelly remember that occurring if a player is out for 10 games or more. Does...

Re: Canucks trade for O'Brien and Oulette

Could this be a precursor to moving Bieksa (and Pyatt) to Boston for Savard? I've heard that rumour for a couple of weeks now and I think Savard between Demitra and Raymond gives us 2 legit scoring lines.

Fred, I think you may need to let Vermette go. The only reason that Vermette was being dangled was because the Senators were worried he was going to kill them in arbitration and they didn't want to spend 3.5 on him. They hashed out a 2 year deal at around 2.75 which is pretty reasonable for the Sena...

I do not want to spend 10 million dollars on someone who seems to be indifferent about plying his craft for ANYONE next year, let alone that he seems ambivalent about the Canucks offer. If he was coming, he'd be here by now. Don't forget, if he does decide to play, and he decides to play for the Can...

I think it's officially time to move on now. We still have over 10 to 12 mil of cap space (depending on what site you visit) with some notable holes in our lineup still (yes first line, I'm looking at you). Waiting for Mats has already cost us our crack at Vermette from Ottawa. Mikey G, it's time to...

Take this for what it's worth, but according to Blake Price on 1040, sources in Toronto say he's retiring. Which means we can't shithawk teams now that would be over the cap that signed the guy. Not so good times.
