Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

Pretty early to be calling Larsson a bust, dude. 23 years old, plays more than Tanev. Might not be 4th overall good, but it's not like he's fallen off a cliff like Hamilton. He's in the same ballpark as Jonas Brodin in Minny. Can make a pretty good case that the numbers say Larsson was significantl...

It was crap for crap... how can that be?

Edit: Although it should be said that corsi seems to like Kassian. I dunno, maybe there's something there for him as something other than a power forward?

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

The Ducks were kind of in a damned if you do, damned if you don't territory. They want to win a cup, and Kesler will be a big part of making that happen. So they can't trade him. They also can't let him reach free agency. The deal is probably 2 years too long and a little high on the cap, but what ...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

Part of me says yes, just because of what Richards has done in the past and the experience he'd bring. I think he could be a good 3rd/4th line option to help Bo out with the defensive side of things. But then I remember he's fallen a long way, has a lot of hard miles on him, and has certainly lost ...

Re: Gillis teaches a lesson. G.M 101.

I really hope that people's expectations for Hodgson are that he will ever be franchise center. He's a good player, but playing in a media market with false expectations you can never live up to can only hinder him.

Re: Gillis teaches a lesson. G.M 101.

Having said that, he should be largely sitting on his hands during this trade deadline day. Hockey trades or cap trades, yes, selling our future, no. I too am an advocate for keeping our first round pick, Hodgson and Schneider (aka our "future"), but would have no problem moving any of Raymond, Ber...

Re: Gillis teaches a lesson. G.M 101.

Naslund seems like a holdover from a different era so I bet having him gone helped (not stirring up the old debate, or calling him a bad leader), but what about Mr. Motivational Speaker? Is it possible there's something to that? Nah...

Re: Gillis teaches a lesson. G.M 101.

Nonis may be fat, stupid, etc. but he did pull off the greatest trade in the history of the franchise. Hopefully MG tops that in his tenure. I mean having ample cap space to sign Sundin is a good move, but it's not a coup like getting Luongo. Really all Gillis has done is replace Demitra with Naslun...

Re: Gillis teaches a lesson. G.M 101.

Sure would, but how much do they want? I wouldn't be opposed to going pretty far with an offer as this is the best chance we're going to have for a long, long time.

It's definately great to see Bert get under the Wild fans skin like that, imagine what'll happen when he rocks some Minny guy down the road after becoming Public Enemy #1 everywhere. I just kind of find it sad that our deepest rival is a low level team, but I guess the question was more who hates us...

Well Colorado maybe, but lets be honest it's very rare for anyone to really hate each other anymore. GMs all talk regulairly and the players don't take the rivalry off the ice.
