Re: I Hate It.....
I would call it extremely unfair to award 2 points to a shootout win. Keep the "loser" point but please get rid of the 2 points for the shootout winner. A shootout win should never be worth as much as an overtime win, let alone regulation win. If people are really stuck with 2 points for a win, then...

Re: I Hate It.....
Regardless, with the loser point in place, teams can actually lose their way into contending for a playoff spot. That is BS. To me, a shootout loss is not a real loss. Those points are not loser points because shootouts should not have counted anything in the standings. The worst thing is that the ...

Re: I Hate It.....
Old system was fine. Even keep the shootout if you can't handle ties. 2 pts for win 1 pt for tie 0 pts for or 2 pts for win (R, OT or SO) 0 pts for loss (R, OT, or SO) Then the record books remain relatively intact. As it stands now they are complete BS. Teams boasting about 95 point seasons and st...

Re: I Hate It.....
The 3 points for a win in the English Premiership has a down side. By the mid point of the season the top teams are often out of reach of most of the others. There's nothing to play for. Actually it's a different system there, because they allow ties. So some games are worth 3 points but a lot of g...

Re: I Hate It.....
3 points for win in regulation 2 points for a win in OT or a SO 1 point for a tie Its been said before but going to a 3 point game for all games makes sense. Games that go into OT will always award 3 points. That right there is the discrepancy that screws up standings. It would still bug me that a ...

Re: I Hate It.....
i hate the shoot out full stop. what was wrong with a tie at the end of regulation if i remember correctly they brought it in during the dead puck era to stop trapping teams playing for the tie, but with all of the changes to counter the trap why can't we go back to the time honoured tie game I'd g...

Re: Bill Sweatt Recalled: Oreo sent back
Realistically, Booth is not going to play the next game. By sending Oreskovich down, does it mean Higgins is back in the lineup? Oreskovich's spot came from Higgins, not Booth.

Re: GDT: Canucks vs Predators | Dec 1 @ 7pm | SNET-VAN (HD),
I looked at the replays. Luongo fell on his stomach only after he saw the puck went in, on both goals. Still, it looked pretty bad and was completely unnecessary.

Re: Ehrhoff Greed
I was very wrong. He did think money was more important than winning with the heavily front-loaded $40M deal, giving him $18M (If I remember correctly) in the first two years of the deal. Buffalo is not the Islanders so there is a chance that the team can be competitive and make playoffs, but cup co...

Re: Ehrhoff Greed
I compared him to Hamhuis in the sense that Hamhuis did not want to sign before July 1st and was also shopped around and traded two times before July 1st last year. Hamhuis refused to sign with a couple of very good teams (Philly and Pittsburgh I believe, so one of them was close to winning the Cup)...

The saga continues.... http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/2011/06/29/ehrhoff_sabres/ Ehroff shuffles off to Buffalo.... too funny.... sucker born every minute. The guy want's as much cash as he can get.. no way he is signing till after friday. The fact that he turned down the Islanders more likely mean...

Re: Ok, so the Canucks stunk in game 7 - Why?
The is not to answer the original question of this thread, but an observation. I didn't watch to revisit the game immediately after, but last night I was going back to my DVR trying to listen to what Tim Thomas said to Luongo during the handshake (it was captured in the US Versus broadcast). When fa...

But he covers the Canucks for the globe. I believe he has been following and writing about the team for this season if not more.

Re: Rome Suspension
The suspension will end up helping the Canucks if the Ballard-Tanev pair comes out. Last time they did, they closed out the series against the Sharks.
