Greg Mueller ‏@GregFBT 9 Jul Congrats to my boy Travis Green on getting the head coaching job with Canucks farm team!!! Well deserved #GreatGuy #Greeny #fb Coming from this guy . Re: Prospect Camp 2013

The ones to watch closely, IMO, are Indrasis and Kenins, both playing with men already & holding their own (even more than that if you check number and quality of Miks' goals). Sylvester is also an intriguing invitee.

Re: Canucks Acquire Joacim Eriksson

I'd be very surprised if Gillis signed another Swedish forward, considering the team is soft as hell already and he's acknowledged the need to get bigger and tougher. And another defensive forward? Don't we have enough of those? Sooo... you did not look up 6"2, 212 lbs Ericsson, his role on teams (...

Re: Canucks Acquire Joacim Eriksson

Awesome signing. Been following Joacim a bit. Basically, a young guy with really big upside, at a cheap contract, who cost us nothing. Don't be surprised if Gillis signs another SEL player soon. I'm thinking of a seasoned two-way center or another defensive forward - a cheap solution well-worth tryi...

Re: Coaches canned

If one of the objectives for a new coach is to work on developing young players, I'm not so sure how Torts then fits here. He had some successes (Callahan and a number of the D men did blossom under his coaching, it is true) but he can also be brutal, loook at Kreider. I don't know. I didn't see To...

Re: Roster Questions

Thank you, Per. I don't post much, just lurk, although for many years (referring to the Canucks Central era). My observation for those who give a damn about it: the Bruins did not break the Canucks, they broke Canucks fans. Some of us never got over the frustration and thrive on negativity. Hard not...

Thanks. Got lost in this shuffle, apparently.

IIRC, today's the last day/game of the Pinizzotto conditioning stint. If so, who goes to Chi Town? Or is it waivers?

Re: So, who would you like in a return for Luongo

Just for the kicks... if they wanted this badly, Pittsburgh can afford both Luongo and MAF this season. More than 8m in free cap space. Also: Brandon Sutter was among the "six for Cody". Excellent up and coming player on excellent contract, that's obvious. Experienced and excellent backup in Vokoun....

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

Seems like a MG move/signing. Keep an eye on UFA overage junior Petr Straka of Baie Comeau. He's been on fire all season. In 34 GP, 27G+24A, 51pts and +23. I'm a proponent of signing Mattias Janmark Nylen. Those of you who follow Jensen's AIK a bit must have noticed him: the other youngster (1992) ...

Re: So, who would you like in a return for Luongo

I think Nonis is looking over that roster and thinking why bother bringing in a franchise goalie for 5 years when it'll take that long to build a contender. I suspect he's going to blow off the season and try for Jones/Drouin/McKinnon. I know I would flush the turds if I was GM. You're making him B...

Re: So, who would you like in a return for Luongo

This isn't about Bobby Lou per se, but... did you notice how Dan Ellis was not in the Checkers lineup last evening? He started last Sunday and, barring injury, there is no reason for his absence. If the rumors linking him to the Canucks were true... It should mean a Canuck goalie is as good as gone....
