Re: The 2018 NHL Entry Draft

Super pumped... player with high skill, arguably best skater in the draft, high intelligence. We need guys like this on the team especially the way the game is being played now. If Zadina had been available it would have been an interesting choice but Benning said they would have taken Hughes regard...

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 17-18 Sponsored by SKYO

I think it’s more likely Jimbo circles back on PK. Word out of Nashville is his schtick has already worn thin and they are looking to move him https://www.tsn.ca/radio/montreal-690/pagnotta-pk-subban-likely-to-be-traded-out-of-nashville-1.1083767 . Jim already had a deal in place once before and it ...

Re: So long, farewell, good bye to the Sedins

Put me in the camp that thought they would be coming back for one more year. It all seems so sudden but that’s the way they wanted it. Amazing players, amazing people - we can only hope this next crop of young players bring us back to the glory years the Sedins took us all through.
Thanks 22 & 33.

Re: Edler's Trade Value

How can you guys POSSIBLY suggest trading Edler... the guy is a life long Canuck... and he has a FAMILY with young children! It's the only franchise he's ever known and he's probably going into the Ring of Honour. He has a NMC!!!! Suggesting he be traded for the good of the franchise to get assets b...

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 17-18 Sponsored by SKYO

I could see a conditional 2nd. If Tampa makes the Conference Finals and or Edler plays x games the pick becomes a 1st. Plus a prospect.

That seems really light for a top-2 defencemen does it not? I would think a 1st and a A+ prospect or quality roster player would be the minimum.

Re: Elephant in the Room - Trade the Sedins

Suggestion was never that they retire or not come back to the Canucks, but a mutual parting for the next 2 months to get the team assets and make them stronger going into next year and giving the Sedins an opportunity to play meaningful hockey again. There is this thing that they “need” to play for ...

Re: Canucks News and Notes 2017-2018

With Goldobin being left off the the roster notes this morning and Holm being called up it seems like a trade. Only odd thing is that it hasn’t leaked and usually there would be some noise by now. Unless it’s Something with the Leafs and Lou keeps things very low profile. EDIT: Looks like it’s Benni...

Re: Canucks News and Notes 2017-2018

It will be interesting to see who TG sits to play Holm. Hutton is his whipping boy but if they want to trade him then he’s going to have to play. That basically leaves DJ MDZ until Hutton and/or Guddy gets traded.

Re: Canucks News and Notes 2017-2018

More injuries.... Brock and Tanev out for tonight’s game. Brock’s is a hand issue and no timeline for return. Ouch.

Re: Elephant in the Room - Trade the Sedins

The difference between Linden and the Sedins is that Linden didn't have a family other than his wife. He was also being poorly treated by the coach and had just given up the "C" to Messier. He was also one player who was only 27 years old and still playing decent hockey. The Sedins are two players ...

Re: Elephant in the Room - Trade the Sedins

Ok well I personally don’t see the 14million $ cap hit as an issue. First off they can retain 50% on one of them which brings hit down to 10.5 million. Pro rated at the deadline 10.5 million/ 186 (days in season) x 42 (days in season left) makes pro rated cap hit of 2.3701 as of deadline give or tak...

Well in that case.... “Rangers President Glen Sather and GM Jeff Gorton have sent the following letter to Ranger fans about the state of the team (NYR): As a member of the Blueshirt Faithful, we consider you a part of the New York Rangers family, and always want to ensure we share important news abo...

Re: Elephant in the Room - Trade the Sedins

Mute or moot, it’s a conversation worth having. Especially on a Canucks message board - everyone here has gone soft. Trading Trevor Linden sucked too. It got us the Sedins. If you could get a first round pick for 2 months of the Sedins being traded would you not do it? Would you add a Brock Boeser ...

Re: Elephant in the Room - Trade the Sedins

It's not about "bullying" them into anything, it is about doing what is best for the team. I want to win the cup and I'm assuming they do as well. I'm not suggesting shipping them off to Siberia FFS. God forbid they have to go off for 2 months and try and win a cup and then come back and sign with t...
