Re: From Bountiful to Ponoka

I have an image burned in my memory of him in the Salt Lake Olympics gold medal game, flying into the opposition corner, nostrils flared like some mad warhorse - he was pretty fiercesome. Also will always remember Crosby calling "Iggy" before taking the pass and burying the shot behind Miller in 2011.

Re: Trevor Linden is stepping down in VAN

the rumour that he was going around the draft asking other teams opinions on how to rebuild a team (talk about out of your depth if you think opposing teams are gonna help you) just goes to show how he needed to be punted. :?: Serious? Where was this rumour? That sounds pretty far fetched You guys ...

It's very confusing.
Not sure what post you're referring to, but if it was the quote in the post before yours, "worst" was the proper word to use in both instances in which it appears.

Re: What to do about the Sedins? (Poll)

I didn’t say they weren’t loyal or that their family isn’t important or anything like that. They are great guys. They just don’t give much of a shit about winning because this team will be a garbage fire once again next year. So basically, if you were a Norwegian in 1940, you'd gang up with the Ger...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

Yup all the best Russians are in the NHL, all the russkies always say this is the best league in the world, thus! Tryamkin will return if not for 2018/19, most definitely for the 2019/20 season just when: Horvat Pettersson Gaudette trio of canucks centers start to get their NHL skills going. :o I b...

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 17-18 Sponsored by SKYO

Been reading all of the Vanek trade talk and the consensus seems a 3 round pick. Perhaps someone who tracks this sort of thing can tell me how often third rounders pan out to take regular shift on the big club? Because I’m leaning towards keeping the guy. He’s been bounced around a ton and I’m thin...

This looks like an admission that we will not be competing for a cup for more than 4 years

Re: Change of Ownership

Hard one to call. On the one hand we have owners with deep pockets and they are willing to spend. I'd hate to get stingy ownership here. On the other hand we have rumours of meddling, the extent, type etc but nothing proven. I mean I've heard them all too and posted more than my share on this board...

Re: The 2017 NHL Entry Draft

Hey Boobie, you ever thought about going to a Canucks game at Rogers Arena and starting up the chant - "FIRE BENNING!"? It's worked in the past. Fuck how bad could a GM be where a whole sold out building at Rogers Arena is chanting in unison for the Canucks GM to be fired? LOL But hey are we surpri...

And speaking about the blind, Blob, you need to stop and breathe for a couple of minutes. I guess it never occurred to you that Jake came back because they needed a healthy emergency body sitting in the press box in case of emergency. Jake was that yesterday. As of today they have Megna back and re...

Re: Canucks News and Notes 2016/17

Yes, if the Canucks claim him they can send him to Utica without him needing to clear, I think. At this point he's a better option than the guy who took his job out of camp, the guy I advocated they keep, Skille. I think Skille has been OK. Etem showed flashes here and there but that was it. I am f...

Re: Time for a prediction thread

Gonna be good. Lowest expectations ever. Can't remember such a low opinion of the team to start a season, and considering how pathetic the team has been in its history, that is saying something. This team is much better than the pundits are aware. I totally think this team shocks the NHL. Of course...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

But we still lack that game changing player. I'm not saying aim for the tank, I'm just saying I won't be disappointed if we end up picking in the top-3 this year. I think we need to wait and see what we really have in Boeser and Juolevi. Horvat could really become that workhorse player who may not ...
