Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

Maybe, just maybe he signed with the Canucks and they can’t announce it because the Canucks are currently at the limit of 50 contracts, so they have to wait until a contract comes off the books before announcing the signing. I got this information from a sharp brain wave spike while doing modificati...

Re: Canuck News and Notes - 2018-2019

If they aren’t sure about Demko yet, they should move him and draft Spencer Knight with the 10th pick. I have no issue with moving either goalie for a good price, because only one can be protected in the expansion draft, and if they both keep trending up Seattle will be grabbing one for nothing. Kni...

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 18-19 Sponsored by SKYO

Reread the post. I assumed we wouldn't win if we keep the pick and then be we'd be pissed, unless we trade the pick. Then whichever team got the pick would win the lottery. Damned if we do, damned if we don't. It is all based on the "Canuck Luck" principle. Study the last 50 years of Canuck history ...

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 18-19 Sponsored by SKYO

I am not as negative as Blob is about next season in that I think the Canucks have a 50-50 chance to make the playoffs with a couple good pick-ups. But even if they are competitive, they could still just miss the playoffs, they will want their pick. If they trade their first pick it would win the lo...

I haven’t been hearing anyone call Jack Hughes generational. If everything works out perfectly he might be better than Horvat, but not guaranteed. Nuts to trade so much for him.
Keep the powder dry for next years draft.
Lafreniere and generally the 2020 draft will be better.

Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver

Sutter was interviewed at the end of the season and he said he has no problem playing on the wing. He thinks it is good to have some centre depth. I agree. I don’t see the issue with keeping them both.

If Marky is likely to get picked by Seattle in 2021, would you accept a 1st for Marky at the draft? Certainly, but nobody will offer one. He’d get a late first To further my propaganda to trade Jacob Markström while the irons hot: Demko appeared in nine NHL games to close out the season posting a 4...

Explain the logic. If you draw blood, four minutes. But if you knock out a tooth only 2 minutes.

Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver

I wouldn’t trade Bo alone for the pick +1 Although I admit not knowing much about the draft prospects. I'm just totally averse to parting with Bo anytime soon. Ya I don't think I trade Bo for any of the picks this year, especially since I assume we'd have to include the 10th overall as well. 10th +...

Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver

Didn’t watch the show, but got what I expected. One good thing is Ottawa’s pick dropped as much as possible, so Colorado probably won’t get a player any better than Brady Tkachuk. Was feeling bad for the fans there. Another is the top two picks are in the east. Hopefully Benning pulls another rabbit...

Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver

Cancelled my sportsnet/tsn cable and added Crave for the summer. Getting ready for GOT on Sunday. Not a fan of any team except the Canucks. In my world, true fans can only be fans of one team. I can get enough hockey on CBC. For some reason I can live without Bluejay baseball all summer long, or oth...

Re: 2019 offseason

There will be some young defensive and goalie prospect depth in Utica, but unless Gadjovich, Lind, Palmu, or Jasek take huge steps the forward prospect depth there is terrible. Maybe they can stash Spooner or some other NHL tweeners in Utica. Another big job for Benning this summer is to make some m...
