Gagner takes Gaudette’s spot
Couldn’t you just say Gagner is playing and Gaudette isn’t.
The bile rose up in my throat when you phrased it that way.
I know it’s going to happen before the regular season starts, but nothing can stop me from projectile puking when it does.

Re: Canucks camp & preseason 2018/2019

Goldobin has too much potential without having been given a full shot. He’d be lost on waivers. The team needs to give him a full season to see what he can develop for himself. If he doesn’t live up then worry about him next year. I’d be choked if they waived him and he failed to clear. He wants to...

Re: Canucks camp & preseason 2018/2019

But, but, but... there’s no Gagner.... and just one too many Goldobins. Can we just trade Gs? Take out a Gagner and Goldobin and replace with a Gaudette and Gadjovich, brilliant! Maybe skip the placeholder stage and go with their destined future line-up right away: Dahlen Pettersson Boeser Baertschi...

Re: Canucks camp & preseason 2018/2019

Sharing my innermost thoughts:
Whenever I see Jonathan Dahlen I think about Steve Larmer and I don’t know why.
I’m sure this is either some kind of hugely insightful connection, or, I’m going insane.

Re: Canucks camp & preseason 2018/2019

Don't know why Sutter is grouped with Gagner and Eriksson.
One of these things is not like the other. I'd keep Sutter. Not like the Canucks have cap issues.

No Madden in the line-up. Is it because he's too young? I assume Lockwoods still injured?
NCAA rules don’t allow Hughes, Lockwood, Madden, etc to play in games for the team and maintain eligibility.

Re: 2018 Young Stars Tourny Pentiction

I did some rough calculations and if Pettersson can keep this up he’ll have a 246 point season. That’s pretty good! Hey, Dahlen would have that many points, too. Excellent! That would be like two guys who are better than Gretzky playing on the same line. Nice! Honestly I am most interested in my fut...

Re: Apparent contradiction?

Does this clear the mud? Benning isn't ruling the prospect of a deserving kid grabbing a roster spot. "If one of them comes in and is like Brock Boeser was last year and we think it's best for him to be playing in the league, then we'll make room," he added. " We're going to have six to eight guys ...

Re: 2019 UFA

Most assessments of the Canucks prospect depth is in the top three of the league. Benning is doing a good job drafting according to most of the media I’ve heard.

Re: Apparent contradiction?

Certainly nothing wrong with having five NHL centres. Injuries are always a problem. Pettersson, Horvat, Gaudette, Sutter, Beagle is nice centre depth. If they all reach their potential and stay healthy (which are big ifs), Sutter can be moved to right wing on a shut down line. The cost for that cen...

Re: Apparent contradiction?

They shouldn’t trade Sutter until Pettersson and Gaudette have been successful at centre at the NHL level. Sutter can always move to the wing if they are ready. He has a NTC this year, and there is no rush to move him at all. Next year and the year after he has a motified no trade clause. If you can...
