Re: Offseason grades so far

I think whats lost here is that Miller isnt just you run of the mill 2nd/3rd scrub. He is a dynamic offensive asset that was stuck behind some future hall of famers and other terrific players in tampa. With all due respect it's not lost on me, he is a good player. Just questioning if good enough at...

Re: Offseason grades so far

His point totals are not overwhelmingly high ... I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say he's been brought in for his hockey IQ, durability for sure, experience in how to win, (sounds simplistic), Don't really have an issue with his numbers to be honest. A 20 goal, 50/60 point player is nothing to ...

Oops :P

That's why you need to hold/add picks. You miss on one, you land with another. That's how odds work.

Re: Offseason grades so far

Entire post Excellent reply! Still not sold but many compelling, well though out reasons why I should be. Bravo. I just really hope Miller is as advertised and not a new addition to the list of over-estimated players Benning paid too much for. I hope last year's drop is a blip and not a trend. One ...

Re: Offseason grades so far

... if you want to go into detail as to why trading away a draft pick today which will be at worst 2 drafts away is a bad idea for the Vancouver Canucks I'm open to a change of opinion... Take care.. Ok then I will repeat myself. I don't like the trade because… A) It is a risky trade and we have a ...

I really don't care what you think about the Miller trade, hate it if you like brother!

*offers Nuckertuzzi a delicious glass of punch* :D
Good, thank you. And not drinking the kool-aid but thanks for the offer.

I see a good team being built here before our very eyes, too bad you and your meat puppet are missing it. :D

What you're missing is that it is possible to agree with you - a good team is being built here - AND still dislike a certain trade.

You can have both opinions you know.

Re: Offseason grades so far

The idea of accumulating picks assumes there is a law of averages. No. It recognizes JB's drafting skills and seeks to exploit those skills as much as possible. based on a law of averages Luckily JB's good percentage made up for the lack of extra picks. Though one could argue those extra picks may'...

Re: Offseason grades so far

The idea of accumulating picks assumes there is a law of averages. And increasing odds of success. It's a strategy/philosophy a lot of rebuilding teams employ. Our problem was ownership/management wasn't ready to go that route early because they felt playoffs were within reach and too important (ba...

Re: Offseason grades so far

if you want to go on and on with this notion that the team should never trade away a draft pick walk us thru your thinking because as I said before it sounds like complaining because you want something to complain about... Curious..if you think I'm going on and on then why in the heck would you ask...

Not a cap expert but the Nucks do not have enough to sign Boeser at the moment so how can they sign anyone else?

Accumulating picks should've been one of the M.O.'s at the outset of the rebuild
That hasn’t caught on at this here message board.

More importantly hasn't caught on with the owner.

Re: Offseason grades so far

.......... Benning also has time to try and recover that pick somehow. I have no doubt he will try to recover it and he should, but doubt he can. At the very least should try to score a 2nd and a 3rd somehow if possible. Maybe Tanev, maybe Baertschi if he can stay healthy for a few months out of th...
