Re: Canucks add Toffoli (Schaller, Madden, 2nd, cond 4th)

There’s pretty much no chance all three of Toffoli, Tanev and Markstrom would all fit into next years cap. Probably zero chance. And a good chance all 3 are gone, hope not but prepare for it. Focussing on Toffoli, if we can keep him for 3-4 years I'm good. Madden could be nothing or have a prolific...

Re: Canucks add Toffoli (Schaller, Madden, 2nd, cond 4th)

And we kept our top two prospects: 1) Podz 2) Hogs + Lind, 6'3 LW Aidan McDonough, DiPietro Additionally we kept all our dmen prospects: Rathbone, OJ, Woo, Rafferty. Will the list remain the same after next week? We definitely have an abundance and therefore I was prepared to see a prospect or two ...

Re: Canucks add Toffoli (Schaller, Madden, 2nd, cond 4th)

To me Toffoli isn't going to be a rental. I think he wants him here with Bo. No doubt Jim wants him longer term and will do everything in his power to make that happen. The conditional pick says it and I don't think you risk all those future assets for a 2-4 month rental, especially on such a young...

Re: Canucks add Toffoli (Schaller, Madden, 2nd, cond 4th)

Francesco doesn't often tweet about moves, but he just did: Very happy with the Tyler Toffoli @tytoff16 deal. Great addition to our group. It's like he made the trade himself  No doubt this is a Francesco trade. The guy fired Nonis for not blowing a wad of alleged prospects (Edler, Kesler, Ra...

Re: Canucks add Toffoli (Schaller, Madden, 2nd, cond 4th)

Especially because you should definitely see already developed guys like Podkolzin and Juolevi in the lineup and also maybe guys like Hoglander, Lind, Woo and more. Except we'll be less a few more of those guys within the next few weeks. I can see Lind and/or Woo/Juolevi in another package for a re...

Re: Canucks add Toffoli (Schaller, Madden, 2nd, cond 4th)

Doc will love this trade! Like I said, always really liked Toffoli and stoked he's on our side now. I would LOVE this trade if he was a couple years younger with a few more years of manageable term, but then that would have costed us another 1st rounder nor would he have been on the block to begin ...

Re: Canucks add Toffoli (Schaller, Madden, 2nd, cond 4th)

While the merits of this trade can and will be debated ad nauseam, there is one important point to factor into all of this ....

it should spell the end of Eriksson in the top-6!!! :D

He’s 150 lbs NuckerTuzzi!!! It’s still a big boys league in the playoffs. You need your horses.
Yup, that's why I said I was prepared to lose him since we already have too many pint-sizers. I agree, you can't last 4 rounds with smurfs.

Re: Canucks add Toffoli

Always liked Toffoli and hope it's more than a rental (though ramifications of that scare the shit out of me). Hate losing T.Madden, was really excited about him but the math just didn't add up in terms of too many damn small guys moving forward. While a team that consists of Petey, Hughes, Hoglande...

Re: GDT: Canucks @ oiler - 7pm- SN-P -Oct 2

We're going to have to get used to Hughes' pylon tendencies, partly out of laziness and mostly simply from a lack of size. It might/should improve a bit over the years with more experience but probably not by much, this is the player we have. But honestly I could give a flying F (at least for now), ...

Re: GDT: VAN / cal & UTICA / cal - both games 9/16

The suicide pass didn't help. Tough game for Gaud overall, a little discouraging but still time to show better. Weird game for both Rafferty and Teves who both stood out for being really awful and really good at times throughout. Too bad we couldn't see the other game just for the Jake show in the l...

Getting a little ahead of things but can't help to think how the events of the past 72 hours could not have worked out any better for those hoping to land Barrie in the offseason.

Re: Offseason grades so far

I think whats lost here is that Miller isnt just you run of the mill 2nd/3rd scrub. He is a dynamic offensive asset that was stuck behind some future hall of famers and other terrific players in tampa. With all due respect it's not lost on me, he is a good player. Just questioning if good enough at...
