Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 18-19 Sponsored by SKYO

Yeah those trades are all over the place, it's impossible to determine what a trade+buyout of Marleau might cost the Leaves. Also, none of the guys you mention were on 35+ contracts, and all of them had most of their salary paid by insurance. My 35+ Malakhov comparison was from 12 years ago, so not...

Re: The Brexit disaster

May wins the NC vote Which was logical. The tories control the house and even if May has lost many of them, they are not ready to sell out their party. Kind of how the republican party backs up Trump even though many of them strongly disagree with him. So, now it pretty much looks like either a no ...

Re: Canuck News and Notes - 2018-2019

This is what Pettersson had to say today. Sounds ready. Guess they're really being cautious. https://www.nhl.com/canucks/video/news--pettersson-injury-update/t-277437438/c-64982003 Sorry I can only link. :( Damn protectionism... Re: What to do with Alex Edler ?

Listening to Bob Stauffer not long ago talking about when the coil traded Petry and how hes what they need now he also mentioned that theres apparently a rule of thumb that you dont trade defenseman until theyve played 300 NHL games. Ive never heard this before. Anyone? Well if he stays healthy, Pa...

Re: What to do with Alex Edler ?

But, I wouldn't lose sleep over our D next year if it looks like this... Edler-Tanev Hutton-Hughes Joulevi-Stetcher Goober-Biega 2019/20 defense goal should be: Edler - (NEW QB) Hughes - Tanev Juolevi/Hutton - Gudbranson Brisebois-Biega/Chatfield Edler - Gudbranson Hughes - Tanev Juolevi - Tryamkin...

Re: OOTS 2018-2019

It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of, in his own mind, the great Tuna. He came here, not unopposed, to share his humour and spread laughter. He showed up sometime after 2011 knowing we needed comic relief. He told many jokes, gave most of us a respite from our many turmoils. He t...

How long before the paper bags come out again?
Music to my ears. :D

No wonder Gardiner is looking to escape Crazy Town as a UFA and Matthews and Marner are looking for offer sheets....

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 18-19 Sponsored by SKYO

Well, there will be 10 or so teams with enough cap space to buy out Marleau, and that list likely includes Philly and Montreal. I think there would be several teams lining up to take Marleau off their hands, if the return is a 1st. I could see the deal working out to something more like Granlund (o...

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 18-19 Sponsored by SKYO

If we want a first round pick, what about something like this draft day deal... IF the Leaves can convince Marleau to do them a solid. Leaves will be utterly desperate for cap room next season. Marleau + first to Vancouver for a seventh, then Marleau is immediately bought out. Buyout cost will be $...
