Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 17-18 Sponsored by SKYO

If I had to guess, I'd say Pouliot may be the odd man out. Now I am well aware that friendships shouldn't count but quite often, they do. Hutton is very well liked by his team mates. In particular, Horvat, Stecher and now Brock. Those four are pretty tight. We're not building a country club. Hutton...

Re: Playoffs

As Aristotle himself pointed out, you cannot have a productive argument with a man who does not accept the principle of non-contradiction. I leave you to indulge in your solipsistic sophistry. As Heywood himself pointed out, there are none so blind as those who will not see. One could say all prove...

Re: Playoffs

In hindsight Elmer should have targeted purely futures in that Kesler deal. He should have never targeted Sutter or Gudbranson in later trades and just signed guys in UFA as two or three year placeholders. He gave away too many picks and prospects. You are entitled to your (wrong) opinion Blob. :mex:

Re: Playoffs

A physical #5 dman who can step into the top 4 on occasion when necessary could be considered a significant asset. He can't be both a "significant asset" and a "throw in". I'm happy with either one, and you get to pick, but it can't be both. That's just not logically consistent. Wrong. He can be a ...

Re: Playoffs

Sbisa is a significant piece? Dorsett is top 9? Wow the bar is low here in Canuck land. "A physical #5 dman who can step into the top 4 on occasion when necessary could be considered a significant asset." "Dorsett played top 9 minutes in Van last season and top 9 minutes in Columbus for 3 seasons" ...

Re: Playoffs

Obviously the 1st rounder and Bonino were the main pieces. But you were focused on Sbisa, what happened? :D I was focused on Sbisa as an indicator of the Canucks' ownership/management group's ability to manage an asset. Your argument seems to be based on the accounting principle of materiality, tha...

Re: Canucks News and Notes 2017-2018

Yeahno, get 34-year-old UFA Filppula in here on a one or two year deal.

He can still easily handle 2nd line icetime and, unlike Gagner, is great in the dot...

Re: Playoffs

"Worth exposing in draft" and "throw-in depth defenceman" both work out to the same thing: not a very valuable player. OK then we agree: the right player to expose. But that being the case, clearly that shows that Benning didn't get much value for Kesler in the trade, if one of the pieces was (demo...
