Is there any D man we could draft this year that may get a shot on the team for next year?
It's extremely unlikely the player we get at #7 this year will play in the NHL next season.

Re: Canucks News and Notes 2017-2018

If your local, Benning coming on 650am radio within a couple of minutes to talk about Pettersson. Pettersson says he feels ready for the NHL and comfortable at centre or wing. Says he's up to 177 lbs now and can begin full training in 3 weeks (when thumb is healed). https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DeDU...

And yet Tkachuk has more fights than Bo and Jake combined. They skate away when there’s a melee
The only fight Tkachuk ever won was against the mighty Alexander Wennberg.

As I pointed out (twice) last season, Tkachuk, after taking a few beatings, now hides behind refs/teammates.

Yes, all things being equal, you chose a centre or dman over a winger. Doesn’t sound like other son of Keith are in his plans.
But all things wouldn't be equal if Tkachuk was still there. :D

Jimmy will take Tkachuk if he's available at 7... I'd bet dollars on it.

For an 18-year old, he did pretty good IMO against a 26-year old goon/enforcer.
Agreed.

Farnham landed a few glancing blows, hardest punch in the fight was thrown by Jake.

If I had to guess, I'd say Pouliot may be the odd man out. Now I am well aware that friendships shouldn't count but quite often, they do. Hutton is very well liked by his team mates. In particular, Horvat, Stecher and now Brock. Those four are pretty tight. We're not building a country club. Hutton...

Re: Playoffs

As Aristotle himself pointed out, you cannot have a productive argument with a man who does not accept the principle of non-contradiction. I leave you to indulge in your solipsistic sophistry. As Heywood himself pointed out, there are none so blind as those who will not see. Hey, one could say all ...

Re: Playoffs

In hindsight Elmer should have targeted purely futures in that Kesler deal. He should have never targeted Sutter or Gudbranson in later trades and just signed guys in UFA as two or three year placeholders. He gave away too many picks and prospects. You are entitled to your (wrong) opinion Blob. :mex:

Re: Playoffs

A physical #5 dman who can step into the top 4 on occasion when necessary could be considered a significant asset. He can't be both a "significant asset" and a "throw in". I'm happy with either one, and you get to pick, but it can't be both. That's just not logically consistent. Wrong. He can be a ...
