Re: Canuck News and Notes - 2018-2019

wow, out with some friends earlier and 'Stairway to heaven' comes on over the airwaves and this wonderful younger gal says 'who is this?' I was stunned at first - WTF? Doesn't know Stairway to heaven?? Anyways, this could probably be a title of a new thread for a number of us as we get older - `song...

Re: GDT: Nov 8/11. Canucks @ Bruins. 4:00 pm SN

Quite enjoyable seeing the beantown beat-down. I find it a little curious though how Gaudette still hasn't found the back of the net, and tonight, he was set up point blank. I was inclined to think that a Hobey Baker award winner would put the numbers up; afterall, look at Gaudrea! But it's simply a...

I hope he shoots like Salo
Pretty sure he has some 'finish' to his game.

Seriously though, it would be great if he could be a 2-4 (1 is reserved for Hughes).

Re: Canuck News and Notes - 2018-2019

Happy Cannabis Day to y'all! Was never certain we would ever see the day when legalization would happen - so even though its a work night, i had to proudly stand in the front yard and greet this new reality bestowed upon us with a dubie. I'm proud of Canada for doing this. Anyways, Maybe i can kill ...

Re: The Rebuild...

JB is a bit of a head-scratcher sometimes. Yes the Pettersen pick was brilliant, while going with Juolevi over Tkachuk was not. Going with the same last place defence corp the following year without making changes? Ugh. It'll be their achilles heel this year and thats on JB.

Re: Canuck News and Notes - 2018-2019

An interesting article in Toronto Sports Network. https://www.tsn.ca/ten-points-to-ponder-as-canucks-open-training-camp-1.1171957 How, exactly, will the same group of blueliners produce more offence than last season? One way to address the issue would have been to change personnel in the off-season...

Re: Apparent contradiction?

Richardstroker69, I'm Freaking out? :hmmm: You made no attempt to discuss the main point, re: apparent contradiction in messaging. It’s not so much you but the media is pumping out this sentiment and it’s annoying. I did discuss the main point it was my first statement, Benning said he’ll waive vet...

Apparent contradiction?

Count me as one of those as being a little confused by the messaging that Benning is providing us. He acquires 3 new FAs during the off-season (Beagle, Rousel, and Schaller), which supports his contention that they will make the Canucks harder to play against - super! (but not so super terms). Then ...

Re: When will the Canucks Next make the playoffs

Errrrrrr ^^^^^ :? A season or two away I say. At least, or hopefully, we're in a process of climbing up and out of the cellar, so that's a process that can be appreciated for sure. I just hope that Green doesnt get caught up into the pursuit of wins via vets vs providing development time for up-an-c...

Re: the paranoia of the canuck fanbase

(Sigh). Crappy time of year for the hockey (Canuck) enthusiast. Pissing contests aren't particularly entertaining either. Heading back east on the 16th to visit my sister in north bay, ont. for a couple of weeks. Gawd help me when it comes to swilling the ipa and conversing with the maple leaf fana...

Re: Trevor Linden is stepping down in VAN

Keeping track of things over here in 'royalist' canada. Finally found a GOOD ipa. Not opposed to Linden's departure. But, BUT (big but), a little concerned about how much ownership wants to 'drive the bus'? And yes, since Linden's ole lady is friends with Edler's, Linden likely enabled Edler to stay...
