Re: GDT: Canucks host preds - Nov 5 - 7pm - SNP

Not sure about what I'm reading here. In my view the Canucks played a good game; lots of good passing and creativity. Their frikin goalie played a good game! Petterson was smart and early more aggressive, from the outset. They're coming around - they're on the up an up. Its a one goal loss to a team...

Re: Canucks News n Notes 21-22

Pretty balanced there x'pat, truth is we don't know where the Canucks will be after 2o games: appreciating/ hoping for a turn around re: goal scoring or looking at hell. Gonna be lots of eyes on the nucks - rangers game

Re: Canucks News N Notes 2020-2021

"One could make the case of Manager Jim evolving only if one uses a severely flawed narrative such as the one you just presented." (Dr. Strangelove) My narrative may have had some holes, but dat statement right dare Doc, yeah, not making sense. I'm entitled to a critique after being diced up and fri...

Re: Canucks News N Notes 2020-2021

Jimmy is now considered one of the elite team builders in the same class as Sakic and Yzerman. This isn’t news to the likes of Doc and I. But then again we’ve always been 1-2 years ahead of everybody I'm laughing at people who are now waking up to follow expiring contracts. Doc and I were discussin...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

Benning traded Schaller, Madden, a second round pick, and a conditional 4th for Toffoli, only to watch Toffoli walk away early in free agency. So i don't know, does that constitute as good asset management??

Re: Canucks News N Notes 2020-2021

I dunno man, I'm not pleased to see both Markstrom and Tanev leave Vancouver and then... BECOME FUCKIN FLAMES!!! Jeeeezus! How the hell is that considered good management? I mean really (and all broom pushers would have to agree). I like lots if what Benning does but he sure won't ever be accused of...

Re: Canucks News N Notes 2020-2021

What a waste of fuckin time that was! Gawd (re:OEL). It may have indirectly hurt us because it backed up the talks with our pending UFAs. Oh well what's done is done, no use whining about it. Lots of work to be done going forward. Agree, very curious to see how Vancouver does over the next few days...

Re: Canucks Young Guns

Rafferty & Rathbone I hear promising comments/observations made about both of these defenseman. I guess its fairly normal to want see a future with rose-coloured glasses and all. But realistically, what do posters suppose is the likelihood that one or both could end up in the line-up this year or ne...

Re: Canucks Young Guns

Sorry Linden, certainly wasn't all your fault... just a period in time in the not so nice part of a hockey team's cycle.

Re: Canucks Young Guns

Yeah... do you want 24 year old elite skater Jake scoring 20/20 playing 13 min a night making 2.5 million? Or 28 year old Toffoli lumbering around at 5.5 million on a long term deal barely cracking 50 points? Savings of 3 million to improve the roster in other areas. Blob, compare apples to apples....

Re: Vancouver's Hockey "Media"

Good post! You explain yourself very well. I remember hearing ole Howie Meeker lament: "You just cant win if you dont get the cotton picking puck into the net." (so simple, yet so true) Amen Howie, RIP. Wait...stop right there....howies dead? Shit, my apologies to all things and people Meeker-relat...

Re: Canucks Contracts

Pretty sure Brock wants 7 or 8 yrs. Doubtful. Five years seems to be that sweet spot these days. Got a mid-summer IPA buzz going with some effervescent 'herb'and we're chattin canuck stuff; I'm figuring that Brock gets 5-6 years at 7.75 On a different note, i am actually excited - looking fwd to th...
