Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver

Wow. What a shitty show that is! Every fuckin year that shitty show comes on and takes the wind right out of the down-trodden Canuck fan. Some consolation in the fact that Chicago didnt nab 1st or 2nd. Benning looked defeated before the lottery even started. Thank goodness that Benning and company h...

Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver

Well, just wanted to throw my 2 cents in: the odds have to be a little kinder this year, we're in the top 3!! Im leaning towards #2 as well. Gonna scurry from work a tad early to see the outcome on tv.

Re: Vancouver's Hockey "Media"

Totally agree with the above. I think the thing I hate about Botchford is the TMZ act and fake shouting and screaming. Nothing wrong with taking management to task. God knows they deserve it. Yeah he gets pretty animated around certain canuck deficiencies like Erikson, and trading away picks, and o...

Re: Vancouver's Hockey "Media"

I appear to be an absolute minority here - I find Botchford to be insightful. I can see how he would piss off the JB 'knob-gobblers' though. Botch isnt afraid to straight shoot and he has a zany sense of humour.

(Now I've really put myself out there on my own little island)

Re: Jim Ignitowski Benning

Can't help myself from doing this, cause i still get pissed off about it: - Juolevi selected instead of Matthew Tkachuk Tkachuk with 26 frikin goals. And here's another tidbit: - Jarred McCann traded for Gudbransen McCann with 15 goals Thats a lot of offence man. In fact im inclined to say, this is ...

Re: Canucks Young Guns

Was listening to podcasts this am, and there was some discussion about the coaching choices to made when your team is out of the running for the playoffs. They joked about how someone might need to carefully tell Green that we're done, but ultimately, it should be JBs job. They raised the notion tha...

Re: The Rebuild...

Just considering the 're-build' and where we are today and what is a reasonable time line for a rebuild. JB was brought on-board after the 2013-14 season where we finished 36-35-11 (bye Loungo and bye Kesler). He re-tooled and the following season, 14-15, the Canucks finished 48-29-5 and made a quic...

Re: Trade Deadline, Feb.25, 2019 ?

Karlsson is a pipe dream. We really should stop fantasizing about it Karlsson is Swedish. Swedes love Vancouver. Vancouver loves Swedes. Thus endeth the lesson. Good point. Markstrom, Edler, Petey, and Erikson, all schweed meatballs; have to think there's gonna be some appeal around that for Karlss...

Re: Canuck News and Notes - 2018-2019

Was thinking today how in the BIG picture, it's not a bad consolation prize to be in the running to acquire a high draft pick, and who knows, maybe it's a part of the 'masterplan' with mgt anyways? When we consider what's in the best interests of the Canucks - a brief play-off appearance or a stab a...

Re: Jim Ignitowski Benning

Well, i think I'm there now - I would be completely fine to see JB go on his merry way. He's pretty damn good at drafting, but when it comes to embracing a progressive vision and having the savvy to wheel an deal, yeah not so good. We finished last season with the worst defence in the league, then h...

In days gone by, if Meier pulled a shit move on the goalie like he just did, Bieksa would have given him a fist.
